TCU 27 ISU 13
on the strength of one return TD, one big play TD, and a pick six late, TCU takes their home opener from the uninspired Cyclones.
Please prove me wrong, boys, but three “off” performances in a row really have me scared that something is very wrong in the ISU locker room.
Conversely, I’m at a loss for how some folks seem to think TCU’s offense is going to score 20+ against this defense. After our last 3 games I'm not getting my hopes up about this offense.
Special teams could be good for giving 2 tds to them. Thank god they don’t have KaVontae Turpin anymore.Conversely, I’m at a loss for how some folks seem to think TCU’s offense is going to score 20+ against this defense.
So, the simple fact that right now ISU had 17 preseason all conference picks to TCU’s nine has nothing to do with who has the better players tomorrow?Todd Kirk was wrong on action fanatics yesterday when he said Iowa State has better Joes. ISU is thoroughly defeated on the recruiting trail by TCU every year. It's reflected in # draft picks each school has had over the years. TCU is more talented, can Campbell out coach Gary again is the question to ask

Preseason AA's are great and all, but I'm more interested in who is on that list at the end of the seasonSo, the simple fact that right now ISU had 17 preseason all conference picks to TCU’s nine has nothing to do with who has the better players tomorrow?

In the last game ISU had drives of 10, 10, and 9 plays that didn't score any points. I think problem there is that those drives covered 42, 34, and 31 yards respectively. When ISU scored, 49 yds/8 plays/TD, 69/7/TD.Our offense is so bad right now we essentially spot our opponents 7-10 points by not being able to maintain drives and keep our great defense off the field.

Just for comparison to a champion, Clemson, in their first game against Wake, 92 yds/9 plays/ TD, 9/80/TD, 10/49/FG, 10/91/TD, 6/75/TD, 9/65/FG.
When you get the ball, you need to make something happen. Mistakes are inevitable. The longer a drive is strung out, the more likely there will be a drive ending mistake. IMO, ISU's meandering offensive style invites failure. It requires too much perfection.
ISU comes back from 13 down in 4th QTR, to take the lead 14-13 with Purdy running/throwing, with 20 sec left. Ensuing KO goes outta bounds, setting up short field. Tent defense gives up 3 first downs, one on a PF, one on a PI and one on blown coverage. TCU kicks a 40 yd FG with no time remaining for the win. TCU 16-ISU 14
