Speed trap Cameras in Strawberry Point?

I probably drive through Strawberry Point 3-4 times per year. Went to Prairie du Chien a couple of weeks ago and got a $100 speeding ticket yesterday from the City of Strawberry Point. Anyone have any idea how long they have had cameras up and if they are clearly marked?

Maybe a more important question. Other than possible getting turned over to a collection agency, what happens if I don't pay?

DOT probably won't renew your license and I have to guess you would get a court summons eventually.

I will never understand the thought process people have behind not paying speed camera tickets. You were speeding, you got caught, pay your fine.

Even without the camera's Strawberry has been known for years as a place to NOT speed. Used to drive through there all of the time on way to visit parents in NE Iowa and always crawled through there.


Edit: Looked back at a Strawberry FB page posting back in April. Was stated they are averaging 500 tickets a month. And Fayette, not to left out, added cameras to.

That $100 ticket becomes a lot more than $100 when the collection agency adds its fees.

Probably not for the cameras. Theyre not considered moving violations, just civil penalties against the owner of the vehicle.
