What the hell is this? I’ve made jokes about white running backs but this was just awkward and hard to watch.

It was awkward, and honestly after the whole Caitlin Clark Jackie Robinson comparison maybe they should just avoid race in general as a subject matter. They don't seem to have a very deft hand at it.

Hawkeye fans can remember a white running back getting 400 yards on them then sitting out almost the entire second half.

I think he was trying to imitate Patrick Surtain talking about Riley Moss who is the first white corner in the NFL in years. Agreed in 2024 a bit surprised a major network doesn't just steer clear of race... but...lets not take life too seriously here.

I don’t care if he makes the comment but he awkwardly danced around it. And why is it “bugging” him? It was a dumb and lazy take. It’s a throw away comment on a podcast at best. Not a segment on local tv.
