Solomon Young surgery today

Long does not have a large enough sample size to consider his shot "good" either. So I guess were "indifferent" about it? If he's shooting 50% from 3 for his entire ISU career, and as some of you say his shot is "repeatable and not broken", why hasn't Prohm played him more and drawn up more plays for him? Surely he would love a 50% 3 shooter to take 15 3's per game. I think he's more of a 30% 3 shooter.
Well, he had that concussion lingering and then an illness, but we probably should have seen a little more of him recently.

Jackson has a good shot, but we’re not exactly able to draw up that many open half-court looks for him. That’s an unattainable mark.

Stay strong there, big fella. Thank you for your effort this year.

Lick 'em next year.

I think you're missing the point here. Jakolby is averaging .9 3's per game. At least Thomas, Naz, and Thomas were getting a hefty share of attempts every game. To your point, Jakolby hasn't done anything to show Prohm he ISN'T capable of shooting 50% from 3. So why hasn't he had more 3 attempts?
I must be missing the point. You are just asking why Prohm doesn't have Jakolby shoot more? I can't answer that for you, man, nobody can. Maybe it is he only takes the shots that he is given in the flow of a game? Maybe he is hesitant and doesn't want to take a "bad shot" so he only shoots when he is wide open? Maybe he is still gaining more minutes and getting his confidence so the shots just haven't been going up as much? Maybe Prohm really likes it in Cam and Lindell's hands and Jakolby is in there mostly when they are both in the game?

The point is, his shot isn't broken, which is the argument I interjected on in the first place. It may look like he is releasing it "Too Late" and getting a "D" for release every time, but he isn't the first person to have a strange looking shot and solid numbers.

Certainly you should know Jakolby has a quick trigger. He has taken and missed some bad 3 point attempts this year. The point is if people think he's got good a good shot that works for him, why doesn't Prohm play him more? You have to think Prohm isn't sold on his shot, as he shouldn't be. Certainly going by CF alone, people seem to think he's a good defender. So that's not why he hasn't been out there more.

Sure, he's made some nice 3's this year. But I can recall a few 3 attempts out of his 16 that were just plain ugly.
But it's such a small sample size, how can you know for sure he has a quick trigger! #jimlad
In all seriousness, I don't even really care to argue this. If Jakolby is good enough, he will be here, if not he won't. Im not hanging my hat on him being an amazing 3 point shooter in ISU history, and I am not betting the farm on him transferring after this year.

I just don't think he has a broken shot, and I like his game, even if it is a small sample size. But he certainly has to prove more to carve out meaningful minutes next year. I guess you'll get your chance to see here in the next few games.

Nobody does this. We didn't do this when we had Tyrus, Naz or Matt playing at their best, why would we do it for a sophomore who is coming off the bench?

Could he be closer to a 30% 3pshooter? Certainly. But he hasn't done anything for you to think that, other than you don't like the way his shot looks. In HS he played against some of the best scorers in his class and put up comparable numbers, with the same shooting form he has now. He was rated as high as he was in prep rankings, with the shooting form he has now, because he was making shots at a high clip.

He's a very solid body in a wing role that could end up making him more of a 3 and D guy. The thing I disagreed with is that a ugly shot does not mean it is broken, that's all.
Having flaws in your shot isn't always an indicator of effectiveness. Jeff Hornacek had some serious flaws in his shot when he was at ISU, but he made some very big shots for us. He did fix things in the NBA, but he shot it very well for ISU while there.

Are you really arguing that someone has a bad shot based on 16 attempts? I'm going to guess you haven't seen half of those 16.

Part of the reason that he hasn't played a lot this year is because right after South Carolina (when he had a really good game) he was out for the better part of 6 weeks with a concussion. He's gotten a few more minutes here recently as this team has become more of the walking dead.

Jackson's shot looks weird but it still mostly goes in.

Maybe that is just the lefty thing, though.

After reading all this, I feel like I might need arthroscopic surgery.

My right knee always crackles/snaps when I bend it with weight.

IMO...if you have a tear, you'll KNOW it. It was like an icepick to the joint every time I put weight on my leg. Don't know if they can do much about general wear & tear until it gets to the point of requiring a replacement.

Only 10? S/he disagreed with almost 30 of mine in a row; acts like a two year old.
It's quite impressive actually. It was over the span of like 2 minutes after I disagreed with him haha, and the ones he dis-liked had nothing to do at all with the thread.

If that's what makes him feel better about people disagreeing with him, I'll let him have his fun haha. Although I did think about it all night:(
