Kane up against Higley.

TD Kane up 3-0. Working on back points and gets the 4 swipes. up 7-0. Looking for the pin and gets it.

Fall for Kane

Schon up now against Buchanan. Very quick TD for Buchanan. 0-3. Buchanan cuts 1-3 and right back in on a shot and TD 1-6. Schon out 2-6. Buchanan right back into a shot and TD 2-9.

2nd starts with schon on top down 2-10 and has about 1:50 of riding time to try and climb out of and cuts him down 2-11. Buchanan right back into a shot and TD 2-14. Schon is just out matched in this one. Nothing more to really say. Wanna see some fight here to finish the period and match. He tried going for a reversal was better off to of just got his 1.

Down 2-14 to start the 3rd. Couple TD's by Buchanan makes it 20-4 TF

Carter makes half attempt and ben out hustles it for the TD. 1-4

Rojas up now against Sagi.

Gives up a TD and is cut 1-3.

Rojas on top to start the 2nd. Trying to put on a ride. Working up towards a minute of RT. Over a minute now of riding time. Hasn't really tried for any turns. Ends up cutting the guy 1-4. Goes for a shot bullies the guy and gets the TD 4-4 to end the 2nd with 1:34 RT.

Escape 5-4. Right not a takedown 8-4. Stall on navy. Restart. Rojas working on 2 min of RT. Cuts the guy 8-5. Navy in on a leg stalemate.

Rojas wins 9-5

Herrera is up now against grant (UNI).

TD for Herrera can't keep him down 3-1. That's how it ends after 1.

Herrera on top to start the 2nd. Cuts him with just over 40 sec riding time. 3-2. Single leg shot by peanut and gets the TD 6-2. Cuts him 6-3. Shot by peanut body locked looking like they want to go upper body..nothing period ends 6-3.

Neutral start to the 3rd. Big double blast from Peanut drives him out of bounds no TD but gets a stall point 7-3. Peanut back in on another shot almost gets caught on his back but out of bounds.

Double again but out of bounds anohter stall call 8-3.

That's how it ends 8-3

I still don’t know why you think this. He’s a tweener who’s struggling as a freshman.

He hasn’t wrestled this light since his sophomore year of HS.

He was one match from winning an age level world medal at 275 lbs just 14 months ago, while weighing 250+.

That’s why.

He cut a massive amount of weight to get to 197. And it shows. Kudos to him for trying but it isn’t working.

On full feed he’s at least as big as Kueter, who he beat more than once before. He would eat Herrera’s lunch.

Herrera and Keuter are 6’2-6’3.

Carroll is what, 5’9? Don’t see many elite heavies at that size.

I love Carroll’s potential but we’ve seen young guys making a big weight cut struggle, it’s not just Carroll. If the coaches think his best fit for him and the team is heavy, he will end up there.

If not, then he’s going to be a tweener for 4 years or he’s going to dial in the cut.

Perryman up.

takedown 3-0. Escape Downey 3-1. Big flurry off of a Downey shot. Could have gone either way but go out of bounds. Another TD for Perry up 6-1. Espace 6-2 thats how the period ends.

Perryman one top to start the 2nd. Escape 6-3 Flurry on the edge and gives up the TD 6-6. Reversal with 2 back points makes it 10-6. Rides him out to end the 2nd.

Perryman choice goes neutral for the 3rd. Perryman TD cuts him 13-7. Another TD for Perryman makes it 16-7.

17-7 final

He’s about 5’11” which is plenty tall.

The best fit for him on the team was 197. That’s why they wanted him and it’s why he came. There’s no debating that. It’s just not going well.

No doubt.

I’m not giving up on him at 197 yet like many seem to be.

Maybe that’s the plan, I don’t know, but there is still time to get it figured out.

Grice up now

TD 3-0. Putting a ride on with over 1 min of RT.

2nd period on their feet. No scoring period ends

Period 3 on their feet. Grice in on a single works his way up and gets the TD 6-0. Good mat returns from Grice. Needs to ride out for the last 10 seconds.

7-0 final

Carroll about won a folkstyle world medal?

What if I told you at 230 lbs Carroll was getting rag dolled by Herrera in the room?

That’s not true and his junior worlds are 125kg was not impressive. He got 10th. Tech’d Poland in his first match then lost 10-0 in the quarters (I’ll give him that it was Masoumi who’s a beast) and then got beat 13-0 by Turkey in repechage match that was to get to the Bronze medal match.

This is getting redundant at this point, but there are no real results at that weight to say he for certain would be a beast there. He might be, but that’s not some slam dunk thing that you keep making it out to be.
