120 FBS teams. Slightly above average means > 60. Is that assertion THAT far of a stretch?

This is how I was coming into THIS season. This past summer, when all the excitement of the basketball season died down and discussions around here finally started shifting to football, the overwhelming consensus around here was that we would win 7-8 games despite the difficulty of the schedule. But I took a look at the roster and so what we lost on defense from last season to this season -- from a unit that already wasn't all that good -- and basically got scared to death, like you.
The defense may improve a little next year -- a hell of a lot of sophomores are getting a ton of experience -- but then the offense is gutted next year. 2011 is the earliest I see this team making a real push.
Well, the schedule is a lot easier than we thought it would be.
I could see OK State and A&M putting 50 on us without much problem. I don't think that TX could score 50 on Drake.

I've watched enough pro wrestling to ooze melodrama.
My point stands. I'm going to guess his next thread will be somewhere along the lines of ISU will go winless until Rhoads goes... or something like that.

He's a minor leaguer. If CW puts coupons on the table, you have no idea what can happen.
First, Are you drunk?
Second, How did you arrive at the "overwhelming majority" of CFers were saying 7 or 8 wins. I can only think of 4 homers picking ISU to win 8 or more this year, and all of those said between 6-8 wins. I'm pretty sure the majority of people on this site were predicting 5 or 6 wins, but since you made the claim I challenge you to prove this statement by finding 5 people predicting more than 7 wins prior to the season starting.
Third, The offense does not get "gutted" next year. We lose 2 starting Lineman and only 3 out of our 2-deep. And We'll almost certainly move KO back inside which will drastically help our running game. We lose our QB and a RB that gets less than 1/2 the snaps. We lose 1 WR and our Collin Franklin. I'll give you that Franklin will be a big loss receiving but Hammerschmidt is making good progress and is a good blocker already. Really the only other thing we lose is AA and to a lot of posters on here think that's a good thing. I think the Offense will be at least as good next year,
Fourth, You say 2011 is the earliest you see us making a push, news flash: that's next year. I hope you meant 2012.
Ok State and A&M could probably put 50 on us. I don't think there's any question about that.
Utah did with complete ease. Iowa could've had they wanted to.
Offensively, I'd put OK State and A&M ahead of Iowa.
How does my post contradict itself? Losing Franklin and 1 other player on the offense that we don't already have a guy to fill their spot is hardly getting gutted. That's pretty much the normal attrition on any offense in college football.
What's your fascination with credits? I understand it's kind of a joke but you seem to really want your credits.
On the other hand I have all these credits and I have absolutely zero knowledge of how I obtained them.
They had their starters in during the 4th quarter, I believe. At least their punt returner was still in anyway.
This is one of those games where Utah has to make a statement for BCS purposes. They don't get many chance to play teams from BCS conferences, and when they do, they have to make the most of it. And they did. Doesn't make it any better on the classless scale, though.

The fascination is with the coupons. That goes back to signing day.
CW and the fanatics were carrying on, and somehow the idea of a CF Signing Day lunch came around. We couldn't get CW to agree to buy for everyone, so we tried to at least get coupons out of him.
Someday, those coupons will happen.
