So, what about TT?

I do love TTs.
I have no idea what this means.

Ahem.
They like to play fast and go for it a lot on 4th downs. They have 3 QBs that have started games this year, and in my opinion, the least dangerous one is starting against us (Tyler Shough, who we roughed up when he was with Oregon in the Fiesta Bowl). They still have Saroderick Thompson, who has a great name and is a pretty good back. I think it's going to be a good game...a close, one-score game, imagine that.

Edit: Oh, it is worth mentioning that their best defensive player, LB Tyree Wilson, was injured in their last game and is ruled out for this one.
This might be helpful. I hate to cheer injury for either side, but..
Can't wait for those two last ISU possessions that would tie or get the lead.
Everyone will be numb by then.

17-10 Texas Tech. Defense is outstanding again, but ISUs offense runs the same plays they always do and everyone who has watched ISU knows what plays are coming. Both of ISUs scores are from great field position because of the defense. 10 of Texas Techs points are from great field position given to them by ISUs bad offense and special teams. ISU has the ball with under two minutes and drives close to the red zone where the next 4 plays are some of the dumbest play calling you’ll ever see and lose.

Could go either way with our Offense. This team has to be on the brink of mailing it in and it will be up to X, McDonald and other seniors to keep it together enough to squeak out a win.

That's garbage, this team isn't on the bring of mailing it in. Unlike most fans who constantly complain and give up these guys actually have pride.

If we don't win, let alone by a decent margin, any previous meltdown will be as dramatic as Richard Simmons stomping a foot in anger.

I think they beat Tech. The offense still looks really poor along the way, but they put together a couple of good TD drives.

Then next week no joke we put a hell of a scare into TCU, especially if they get by Baylor.

I get the feeling that ISU might stun TCU. IF just for once the offense can not screw up at the end of the game, and maybe a couple bounces go ISU's way.

It’s too bad the offense has been so heinously bad. People need to realize just how good this defense has been. It’s one of the best the Big 12 has seen statistically in the last 15 years I believe is what I heard.

It’s why this season has been so frustrating. If we just had a bad offense we would be right there with a shot at the conference title. But the offense is terrible and a few huge drops by WRs have really hurt.

Yeah, it ISU was truly awful being in last place wouldn't hurt so much. You know every team that ISU lost to this year would not want to play the Cyclones again.

Seemingly every Texas Tech season is about injuries and this one is no different.

  • Starting QB Tyler Shough was injured in the 1st quarter of Tech's first game of the season and missed the next 6 games. He came in relief duty vs Baylor and TCU but looked very rusty. Then last week vs. Kansas was the best game of his TTU career.
  • 2nd string QB Donovan Smith came in and beat Texas and was then injured the following week in Manhattan.
  • 3rd string QB Behren Morton came in the following week vs. Oklahoma State and was playing excellent, beating top 10 OSU and he got injured in the 2nd quarter, since Tech didn't have anyone else, he hobbled around the second half and lost the game. Then Morton was knocked out for good at TCU. I'm bias, but I think Tech wins both of those games with a healthy Morton, he was that good.
  • DE Tyree Wilson was leading the nation in TFL and a projected 1st round draft pick and he got hurt last week vs. Kansas and is out
  • The OL has been a constant rotation all season due to injuries, but finally seem healthy and had their best game last week
Texas Tech's offense has run the most plays in CFB this season and has the most 4th down attempts. They like to go fast, line up fast and if they get a first down, immediately sprint to the line and run a play as fast as possible. They haven't been great this year largely due to the inconsistent OL and revolving door at QB. RB's are solid but not HR threats. WR's are young and inexperienced.

Texas Tech has had their best defense in probably 20 years, it's not great by ISU standards, but really good by Texas Tech standards. LB's and CB's are solid. DL is very aggressive but how much of a drop off do they have missing Wilson? Safeties are just okay, miss tackles but are not terrible in coverage.

I think with past Kingsbury and Wells teams Saturday would be a mortgage your house on ISU type game considering the ISU defense and the weather. This McGuire era seems different so far. They're not necessarily winning a lot, but they're fighting hard and they haven't folded yet this season(you could argue it was close to folding vs. Baylor). Like ISU, most of the losses are within 10 points. We'll see how this new McGuire era team handles life in Ames. My only expectation for this game is ugly.

TxT's coach acts like he's playing on Friday night rather than Saturday. He makes some of the most outlandish 4th down calls. ISU's defense will stuff a few of those into turnovers and the Clones will win a close one, 17-14 or such.

Tech is loaded with big receivers, a good running back, and three deep at QB. But their o'line is leaky. ISU's defense will dominate this game on a cold winter day in Ames.

I love your confidence, but 17 is a lot of points for us.
That's not just pessimism. I went and looked it up. 3 times in conference play. If we get double digits, it's an explosion.

Heck, it might be an explosion if we total double digits in these last two put together.

My point, TxT coaching lapses will trump ISU's offensive offense. Yep, Clones win!
