Our own game threads are super toxic. I think it’s kind of funny an NFL game thread blew the roof off.
You’d think it was an Iowa-Iowa State game thread with a national championship on the line. Bunch of people who’ve never cheered for the Niners in their life before 8 weeks ago, Purdy out of the game with an injury, just losing their $hit because an Eagles fan says “touchdown”. Crazy.

People who are behind the back Aholes are the worst. They are the back stabbers.

I may be an Ahole, but I’m an Ahole in public and to your face.

Makes me wonder, can you get DM’d from someone you blocked?

To be fair though, it’s pretty rude for the Eagles to get touchdowns.

Testifying
perm bans mean a lot more work for mods post ban. It would be great if they just left to never come back, knowing they are wanted here. Alas… this thread reminds me of our annual ask for a raise. *tincup rattles*
A picture of my taint is priceless. I'm PMing one to you now.

Yeah I'm not really sure why people were so bent out of shape once the 4th string qb got knocked out and then it became clear that brock couldn't throw further than about 5 yards.

Yep... don't mess with the Purdy lovers.... it's not pretty.

Health concerns. If comments on here are making someone feel how they felt just prior to having a heart attack, I think it would be wise for your health not to be on here. Nevermind the heart attack was apparently less than a month ago. Health > Stupid Message Board

They should just shut down the site for like two weeks and see how people feel after a CF cleanse.

Today, before any personal remarks were seen publicly in the NFC game thread, there were already incredibly insulting, slanderous, personal attack, and cruel mental health remarks in both posts (quickly deleted) and in PMs.

Regardless of how long you've been a part of CF, you will never know what it's like to be a moderator on here. The moderators have given literally 10's of thousands of unpaid hours each over the past 17 years on here and repeatedly get belittled, insulted, talked down to, and personally insulted - usually via PM but even in public.

You might visit this site every day but have no reason to be sensitive to things posted. Moderators don't have that luxury, it's become a part of their lives, personas, or personalities. So while you might think you're a single person poking a jab, remember that there are dozens if not hundreds a week doing the same thing to those that are doing everything they can for you to have a place to visit. And likely many more doing far worse via PM.

So as you move on to other threads and posts or go to other sites, remember that you aren't singled out until or unless you give us a reason. Your actions have far greater impact on others than you might expect just because it's "the internet".

If you want the forums to continue to be lively and enjoyable, I would suggest thinking more about your jokes about moderators and/or moderation.
I am sorry to hear this abuse. I see how posters attack on here, i can't imagine how bad they must be in private. Ban the posters. It would make the whole board more enjoyable. I have lots of posters on ignore.

What types of things were being posted? Seems weird that the NFC title game would be a contentious topic.

But that sucks. @Jeremy and the mods do a hell of a job here.

What does 'hateful reps' mean? That may have been before my time.
It feels like forever ago but there used to be a way to "award" posters for whatever you'd like. Good posts, a funny comment, participating in a forum game, etc. In general it would show off who was a positive poster and who wasn't. You could also leave a message with it for why the poster got the rep award from you. There was a positive, negative, and neutral rep options to award to people and they would get a score out of 10. It would be like if we had a score based on the number of likes/agrees to disagrees/dislikes or dumbs

Well, negative rep eventually went away for pretty obvious reasons. But you could still neutral rep people, which didn't really do much of anything. Certain posters, who I cannot name because I forgot who did it, used to use neutral reps to insult people during arguments. I don't think anyone else could see your reps other than you, so it would be a way for them to throw some pretty bad shots at other people without making an ass of themselves in the thread. People started showing them off in screenshots though so that backfired pretty quick.

Surprisingly, I don't think I actually ended up with that many. Maaaaaybe one from a guy who went off the deep end after a basketball loss and said Georges Niang needed to be benched permanently. He was an odd fellow though

All that went away when the site upgraded a while ago along with a few other things(RIP Jimlad). Kinda miss it at times, but the emojis are fun too even if I wish there were a few more of them

CycloneAlert is trending towards the behavior on here and would see an uptick during that time.
