Sounds now like the university heard about this months ago and had already been investigating. I suppose there is little they can do to take action without being 100% certain, but it also leaves the door open to suspicions about a cover up.
She's a college student....
yep. see if they beat ohio state and make the playoffs....Do a little 3 month long internal investigation. No rush. Maybe see how the season goes. Maybe see just how concerned you should be about this based on how the season goes. And then act accordingly.
breaking and entering, knives, necks, suicide threats etcCollege girls are adults. What diff would that make? Why was he in jail? Did he assault her? I havent been following.
Sounds like a whole bunch of people knew even if they didn’t “know” but I suppose there’s plausible deniability if both parties deny it and no one claims to have caught them in the act. Not that I agree with that, of course. If you “know,” you did it out.Sounds now like the university heard about this months ago and had already been investigating. I suppose there is little they can do to take action without being 100% certain, but it also leaves the door open to suspicions about a cover up.
She’s not a college student or even close. I think she’s like 32.College girls are adults. What diff would that make? Why was he in jail? Did he assault her? I havent been following.
That was from right after this broke and that was the first indication. She’s not a college student or even close. I think she’s like 32.

Definitely didn't perform a quality risk assessment prior to firing him. Right call, very poor execution. He’s such a moron.
You are repeating yourself here, again All time wins means nothing, nor does conference titles based on all time wins. You have something with Michigan won a title last. So we have Michigan in 2023 and then, 1997 shared with Nebraska and then 1948. Let's look at Alabama the past half century. Titles 2020, 2017, 2015, 2012, 2011, 2009, 1992, 1979, 1978 shared. So in the past 45 years we are comparing 9 titles to 2. Lets looks at the team that was runner up, Alabama in 2016, 2018, 2021 that is just in the playoff era, Michigan ZERO.On any measure? Really?
How about all-time wins? Win percentage? number of conference titles? Most recent national title?
These are all measures.
I am but an ignorant rube, but I feel like this NIL thing might impact college football. Perhaps it may even delineate a whole new era of the sport.
At no point did I even imply Michigan has been as successful as Alabama over the last 20 years. That is a straw man I’d want no part of.
My point, if there is one, is that in the post-NIL landscape a Kalen DeBoer might leave Alabama for Michigan without the consensus opinion being that he stepped down a class.
In fact, if it happens I’d bet some small sum talking heads will yammer on about what it means for Alabama’s ability to compete in today’s climate.
And to avoid confusion, I am not of the opinion Alabama won’t be able to compete. At most I’d say the likelihood of a Saban-like dynasty returning to Tuscaloosa in an era with unlimited spending is very, very low.
He ought not be incarcerated in a regular jail if mental health related ie suicide. Her age has nothing to do with his dismissal, nor does the fact that he was cheating on his wife. It's the fact that she was working for him while he was sleeping with her. That's a very major no-no in just about every job. Several CEO's have lost their jobs over it.
I've heard two reasons for him being in jail, one is because he threatened (assaulted) someone. The other is that he was deemed a credible suicide watch due to some of the things he said so they detained him.
There is speculation about that. If true, a lot of people in the University are going to go down.Do a little 3 month long internal investigation. No rush. Maybe see how the season goes. Maybe see just how concerned you should be about this based on how the season goes. And then act accordingly.
The story is that they both denied during the investigation. After that was over Sherrone was encouraged to fire her because the whole thing was a distraction. So then he fired her and you won’t believe what happened next. That made her mad and she flipped her story. Then the fallout. There is speculation about that. If true, a lot of people in the University are going to go down.
Reports that Michigan investigated, but didn't corrobarate. now some new irrefutable evidence came forward.
If I'm Michigan, I'd have to be pretty damn sure of the facts before firing him. Especially for cause and - even more so - saying specifically it was about an inappropriate relationship.
Knowing the PR damage you're going to see either way, you don't set yourself up for a wrongful termination or libel suit on top of it unless you've got your ducks in a row.
