Sherrone Moore Fired

So your reasoning is because a women’s basketball coach is friends with a coordinator who has already ACCEPTED a position elsewhere that Iowa state should had played a meaningless bowl game. And practice with a staff composed of new staff and old staff?

My god. People are obsessed with these bowl games. They don’t matter anymore. It’s playoffs or nothing. The only reason these other games exist is for tv revenues

Even Glen Mason (former college head coach at many major universities) was on KFAN this afternoon and said the same thing.
how did the liberty bowl mean more in 1970 than it does today. neither game was going to be for a natty?

Sorry this is really dumb. And according to Blum and Brend today, he has NOT accepted anything anywhere!

I would buy a lifetime subscription for the Patriot-News if there is a full page ad from Matt Campbell.

Because teams could win 7 games in 1970 and NOT make a bowl game

And times change…. And beliefs change

He said today the only reason these games exist now is because TV needs to fill the time. It’s all about money. There are way too many bowl games. Making a bowl game used to be an accomplishment. Now teams can make it with 5 wins

Just telling you what he said this afternoon
I get that, but every point you made was also true in the 2004 Music City Bowl. Just as meaningless then, as this year's Music City Bowl between Illinois and Tennessee (which should be a full house like it was in 2004).

A team damn near made the playoff this year winning 7 games.

None of that means the bowl means less. There are more bowls but those bowls have the same meaning as they did before. And by the 80s there were way more bowls.

Bowls have always been what they are, outside maybe 1 game that was the championship. Now we have a playoff and the none playoff bowls mean exactly the same as they did before the playoff.

So if there are only 10 bowl games you feel it is just as much of an accomplishment to make a bowl game if there are 50 bowl games??

Why do you feel so strongly Iowa State should play a meaningless bowl game this year?

1. Because there were far fewer bowls in 1970 compared to now - 10 in 1970, compared to 35 this year, and that's not counting the 6 BCS bowls that now comprise the quarter and semifinals.

2. There was no "consensus" national champion in 1970, nor any year before 2014, when they started doing the playoff - it was whatever the numerous polls decided. And while the AP would always be viewed as the most credible, with dozens claiming national champions, you could end up with numerous teams claimed national champions. It's how Iowa and Oklahoma State can "rightfully" each claim national championships, even if the rest of the CFB world laughs at them. And while the Liberty Bowl probably never had the opportunity to determine a potential national champion by a team winning their game, because there were far fewer bowl games, it just mattered more because there was almost never a game that outright determined a national champion..

The abortion thing is also true, just wild after harbaughs speech on that a couple years ago.

Apparently the boards were right the whole time

Also confirmed it is the girl that was posted on here
Quick Google lists her as his executive assistant with a $90k salary. If she is a student that's gotta be the highest paid non-athlete student on campus.

Michigan fans are the worst in the b1g, which is really saying something. They were only relevant on the field after they could pay players but they think they're on par with tOSU. They don't realize they're a poor mans ND. They deserve this. You have to wonder what happens with Underwood now.

Pedo and them rebuilding their rosters will break CFB the way CBB NIL went nuts when Arkansas and Kentucky were throwing cash around to build their rosters. It's not good news for Campbell.
