I think we’re actually a worse team than last season but have a better record.

I am almost there. This years team is lacking a bucket getter IMO. We had that last year with Rasir. Also it isn't likely there is a near 40% 3 pt shooter like last years team had with JC-L. It might be a deal though where the whole is greater than the sum of its parts. Intangible things will hopefully propel this team to be better, even if the overall talent is worse.

Has anyone ever heard any more about why Javon left? I thought that guy had talent/potential

I am not sure, but most likely TJ told him he was going to be pretty well buried in the rotation, or even out of it entirely. I don't agree that he had a lot of talent or potential. To me he looked a little clunky and unrefined to be a consistent contributor at the Big 12 level. I am kind of surprised he landed at another P6 school, albeit Depaul was just as bad as ISU last year.

He came in with some hope of being a point forward of sorts. That hope was about as useless as a fart in the wind.

Yeah, I'm sure they're doing it on purpose. If they ARE doing that, then they are simply not doing their job. Their job is to cover the team, not cover the new coach's a$$.
But, are they journalists, and are they working under the umbrella of journalistic ethics and a tradition that requires a certain approach to coverage? IMO, I don't think so.

I hope the CF guys and gals do not think that I, in any way, mean to malign. From my observance, though, the CF business model is not journalistic in type or approach. It is fan- and business-based; that does not mean that its writers or on-air personalities do not enliven their presentations with their opinions in an informative matter.

IMO, the CyFy approach is not restricted by journalistic requirements and norms and, thus not corseted by the industry's understood rules, is free to pursue their goals as they wish:

That is, they are not failing to do their job, they are, in fact, doing their job very well and entertainingly so.

Just my thoughts. I don't presume to know crap, so take the above with a shaker of salt. ;-)

No reflection on TJ when I say fans interpret "the talent here" so differently. You make it sound like winning 15-16 games is so easy. At one time we had Morris, Long, Thomas, Niang, and Hogue on the floor. Grant it they won more games than 15, but I ask you....is there any one player starting for us this year that is as good as any of those 5?

I don't know yet, and why does it matter? Because neither Greg or Fred had Morris, Long, Thomas, Niang and Hogue on the floor their first year. I don't know why you are making that comparison. So I'll stick to my belief that if Greg and Fred could make the 15 win threshold their first year with what they had.........so can TJ.
