People get arrested all the time on bad charges that are unsupportable in court, and the DA is going to drop this like a bad ******* habit.
Two things can be true: it’s absolutely tragic that someone lost their life this morning and it’s also hilarious that this whole saga occurred. For those that are taking this wayyyyy too seriously and defending the cop (looking at you no creativity and cyhig) take the huge dump out of your pants and laugh about this whole ordeal. It’s going to be a big nothing burger.
And settle on traffic citations. $200 fine, if that. Scotty doesn't pursue anything else as he wants to move on. And yes, this stuff happens all the time. I highly doubt this one incident will change the legal process

We do know things though. There are many eyewitness reports from reputable reporters because they watched the whole scene unfold. You also have videos and more that will likely come out. You also have reports both from the PD and from Scheffler.
There’s not a ton of speculation here except from @NoCreativity who clearly isn’t following along and literally making **** up (jumped the median, 20 yards, should have had police escort, etc.). From the evidence we have, it looks to me like, Scottie should have stopped, and then it was a huge overreaction from the police that made this 1000x worse.
I honestly see a lot of similarities between this case and the ISU gambling situation
Remember, the officer is trained to assume the worst. The officer didn't know who Scotty was. All he knew was he was driving in an area the officer didn't think anyone should be driving and Scotty didn't stop. Fault is on all parties involved.
Are police trained to jump on vehicles to stop them or did the officer go rogue? To me, if someone has bad intentions, jumping on the vehicle isn't going to do jack and is just going to get you injured or killed.
The officer didn't need to know who Scottie was. They simply needed to know how an official tournament car is marked as such.

Darkness and rain. Seeing just one of these things in a lifetime is rare, but both at the same time is almost unheard of.
Lol, I never said a word about any median or police escort. I was watching ESpN this morning and one of the reporters stated it was around 20 yards.
I've seen someone get seriously injured before becuase people can't take a couple seconds to slow down or be more careful. How does hoping for less injuries and wanting people to be more aware if their surroundings have anything to do with my level of happiness?
Who knows, it might not have anything to do with this case at all, but I see this kind of stuff all the time, people can't even be bothered to be cautious becuase God forbid they get there 30 seconds later or they think they are self important.
About a month ago I saw this tow truck operator about get run over at 86th and Hickman. His co-worker is waving everyone into the other lane, this lady just keeps going and comes withing a few inches crushing his legs as he's under a car trying to get it strapped in.

Apparently a civilian must always have keen situational awareness and act correctly while the officer can be forgiven for things he couldn't or didn't know. If the police are trained to always assume the worst, it would indeed explain how so many innocent, unarmed people get shot all the time.
Jackboot posters aside, he's playing pretty well today, in great position for the weekend so far. Winning would cement this recent run as legendary.
