San Antonio wide receiver Bryson Thompson commits to Iowa State

We seem to be getting a ton of under sized WR. Which can be ok if they can make up for it in other ways...

It seems to me that the Campbell staff kind of fell in love with the big WR when they had Lazard and Butler. A few worked out, most didn't. To me, the biggest thing you look for in a WR is "can you separate and get open?". Most big WRs can't separate and you end up having to throw them jump balls where they body the smaller DB. That's fine in the redzone, but everywhere else I'd rather have the smaller, quicker WR that can get open by running routes faster.

If you can get separation and have good hands, you will see the field.

My first impression of CJR is that he is going to focus on the lines and then recruit speed around it. We may sacrifice some size at times, but I'm excited to see his vision hit the field in the fall. It's almost refreshing to go into a season without crazy expectaions, if I'm being honest. I think we'll have growing pains, but I think we'll have fun getting to know this team.
