RTT...20-20 hindsight.

Well, one of two big crowd events done for someone who hates crowds.
I don't mind crowds in an open space like at a game, but moving through those crowds when everyone is out on the concourses is stressful because everyone just wanders around and they don't pay attention to the other people around them. Same at the grocery store when it's busy, people should treat navigating the aisles like driving.

I like small groups. I spend my days basically by myself all day long. So outside of my family, I can do without people. I don’t mind crowds like football games and such because I’m there doing something but don’t interact with the people around me much.

With the wedding under 4 weeks, i may go into hiding until then.

See I can go out to a crowded bar, even though I prefer it to be empty, and not converse with anyone. I know it's a social place but sometimes I don't go to socialize. Sometimes I just want to relax after work. Some people just insist on talking to you though, and then when I don't talk back, I'm the jerk for some reason.

Or birding roadtrips for me. I rarely leave the Twin Cities metro but drove up to Sherburne Wildlife Refuge to chase little saw-whet owls eight times the last two weeks. Had to gas up twice in the same week! I usually have to buy petrol less than once a month. And rare all highway miles so at least got good mileage but paid $5 for gasoline for first time in my life.
We went up to Sherburne after early church on Sunday. We saw the usual: sandhill cranes, canada geese, mallards, great blue heron, green heron, etc. The highlights were probably the orchard oriole, rose breasted grosbeak and sora. Daughter was also excited about the towhee - I can't remember which one. She saw about half a dozen lifers so a pretty good day.

So, Google updated and rebranded the Fitbit app as Google Health. Last night I couldn't sleep at all which was the exact opposite of what I would have thought being as tired as I was.
At 1:30 am Google decided to send me a notification that it noticed I was having trouble sleeping and if they could help. They could help by not pinging me at 1:30 am

One time when my mom was tired I asked her why she didn’t take a nap. She told me she was too tired to sleep. That one always slightly confused me.

Been there. Your body is exhausted, but your damn brain won't shut down from thinking about how exhausted you are.

I am in a little bird chat thread with three friends. One gets up crazy early. I have my phone muted from midnight till 8 am but the Garmin watch will still vibrate/chime for messages since it is linked and I can't seem to find a way to mute it at night. Had to start leaving my watch in the kitchen at night. And, sure enough, when I checked messages today one was from 4:10 am!

Watching an old movie tonight that I hadn't seen in a while - Mister Roberts (starring Henry Fonda). We paused it for a couple of minutes and when we came back, the streaming channel had the rating and reasons for the rating up in the upper left corner as always.

Would it surprise you to know that Mister Roberts was rated 18+ for sexual content, language, and violence? It sure surprised me! I think the strongest word used was damn, and the sexual content was basically the crew watching the nurses through binoculars, and Pulver describing how he was going to seduce one of them. The violence was non-existent. Makes me wonder if the person who rated it actually watched the movie!
