Rosenfels as Head Coach?

I love Sage, but I disagree. Id be fine taking him as an assistant.

But we CANNOT take a gamble with this hire. If we have one more year of 1-11, etc, we will fall of the face of the college football map for a decade. We have to be relevant again, and fast. I think we have to go for a mid-major coach with proven success at the HC level, and who has recruited well to his MAC/C-USA team. Again I love Sage, but we cannot afford to take that gamble.

Fred was a 1 in a 100 shot. Not to mentinon Basketball is much easier to recruit to and build a program quickly. Football takes a complex set of dozens of coaches and staff members that all have to do the right thing.

Not at all.

Sage should be welcomed to the football program in any capacity that he would like.

Announcer, position coach, head coach, goodwill embassador, etc. Call your shot, Sage

ISU can do worse than a former player who knows the game, seems to enjoy the university and played in the "League" for the long term. The man is bright and talented

Open arms, Sage. Open arms

This is an annual discussion. What makes anyone, including OP, think Rosenfels is even the slightest bit interested in coaching?

I don't think anyone has asked him, for that matter its an exercise in critical thinking. I am quite sure that if asked he probably say "NO" but.. I agree with KNAPPSHACK "open arms Sage"

To add to the JP comments; with this being possibly his last chance at a hire given how unhappy people are becoming with him, I don't think he can afford a risky hire like Fred was again either at this point.

Who would these people be, your group of buddies down in Florida?? Not seeing too many angry mobs here in Ames headed for Pollard's office....

Attack the position based on where I live, thats the ticket..... Maybe spend a few minutes reading around here before confirming to everyone that you don't have any idea what you're talking about. There are plenty of posters questioning JP. I don't happen to be one however.

He likes waffles AND pancakes. You don't find that combo around much, I think he'd make a great coach. Who cares, no is saying he's interested.

We have got to get the next hire right or we might be headed to the MAC. So no, it wouldn't be the smart thing to do to pay somebody to train them to be our next head coach.

Huh? What does that have to do with anything? Is KU going to the MAC because they suck at football?

We've been hearing that for decades. Yet Iowa State continues to suck in FB and remain in a top conference.

Just threw the location in because I haven't heard hardly any comments about Pollard doing a bad job in his position from my acquaintances. Sure there are a few vocal posters on here that have a bone to pick with him about something but in my opinion it's a very small minority.
