Have we ever had a better QB to finish a game when trailing late? Did it against TT as well but D couldn't hold. And just a Sophomore. We are damn lucky he's here. And staying!
Game winning drives against Iowa, UCF, Utah, Miami. That is difference between, 7-7 and 11-3.

Granted they would not have played Miami, if they end season 7-5 but the point still stands.

Fine line between winning and losing in football. You need that variable that gives you the ability to sit on the W side of that line most of the time

Recency bias etc., but I thought that was Rocco's best game of the year, he looked absolutely fantastic. A couple bad throws that could have been picked, but they weren't. Same deal as "Could have won if Ward played the whole game" well he didn't.

Play around that level all year next year and we'll be a good team!

I'd bet that Rocco already has the school record for most game winning drives in a career.

I think he's 3rd in career TD passes, if I'm not mistaken, and 4th or 5th in passing yards. He's on pace to break a lot of Purdy's records, but he won't have Higgins or Noel next year.
Has to be climbing the charts for the most important QB stat, career wins.

+ Texas Tech which was negated by the last minute defensive meltdown.

If CMC can find another Noel/Higgins and Rocco keeps eliminating what few flaws he has, he could be a Rd 1. As a sophomore he’s ahead of Purdy. Doesn’t do the turnover thing & is able to get yards with his legs or QB sneaks. Remember when they’d have Purdy at shotgun instead of over center on the goal line? I know it doesn’t make sense but I think Rocco is going to be better than Purdy if the receiver talent is on campus. The Clanton hire is helping too.

Played three really good quarters (maybe best of the year) and avoided the pick six. I only remember one truly missed throw to Noel that may have gone for 70, and one that should have been picked behind the receiver across the middle. Not having Higgins as a crutch may have elevated Rocco's play a bit as he spread the ball better.

Being clutch matters more than stats and he is already head and shoulders above Purdy in that category. Purdy is snakebit when it comes to game winning drives.

From just a talent stand point, he's probably behind Brock, Seneca, and Sage. But he's the best leader I've ever seen here and most clutch.

Purdy’s career was marked by close losses. Rocco’s seems more marked by close wins.

Brock had superior TE and RB around him. Rocco this far probably had better receivers.

If Rocco stays healthy he will almost certainly surpass Brock in every statistical category with exception of completion percentage and rushing yards (although Rocco probably more rushing TDs).

Sage is my boy, but Rocco's more talented than Sage was. It isn't really close.

No shot he'd ever be a 1st rounder. He'd be lucky to be taken in the 5th. Just doesn't have the physical attributes that the NFL values. Most likely would have to follow a purdy type route, get on a practice squad and be ready if his number gets called.
