Rocco joining the Transfer Portal

I was disappointed with the number that left, but players are going to go where they believe they have the best opportunity. It is what it is. And Coach Rogers is making pretty good progress at building a roster and staff. Campbell left the program in a much better place than it was when he came.

Just wait to meet the ones on the eastern side of the state(Philly)
I’m not going anywhere near Philly. Had a buddy go to an Eagles-Cowboys game a couple years ago. Eagles fans threw quarters at them from above and beyond all game long

I sat with the Giants player's families during an Eagles game when I lived there (Phillies and Sixers games were not nearly as bad). I promise you that the game day experience there is even worse than what people can imagine.

Yeah, it’s not an easy decision. I’m also talking as an adult with a family and many years working in financial services. Meaning I understand the head start another 150k at 23 years old gives you in life. Specifically knowing how long it would take the average college grad to set that kind of money aside and how time is your biggest friend with investing.

22 year old me very well makes a different decision
Cute, you think any but a small minority put it away for a rainy day. Hell no, they are livin it up with their boyzz.

I hate to agree...but I do
I don't. Y'all can hate on me, but I always try to give people the benefit of the doubt.

1) I think cmc always had Penn state on a short list of places he'd have a hard time saying no to.

2) some of the guys were always going to follow him. Rocco with only one year left was gonna be one of those guys.

3) I haven't followed what's happening in happy valley to know this for sure... but the fact that so many of our guys are following him tells me that Matt might be having trouble getting anyone better... not good for him and penn state

4) The other dudes in the portal going elsewhere or uncommitted at the moment to me says more about the current staff than cmc. JFR must have other priorities than retaining as many players as possible. I don't think that's a bad thing.

All in all... my original recommendation stands. Tune out of football as much as possible until basketball is over. We'll have months for fretting over the roster and what the fall is going to look like.

Is this hypothetical or do you think any of the transfers to Penn State have almost no chance to play again?
Very, very, very few will.
Can't blame them...if it's an extra 50k or so.
In my Ames college lifetime, 50k was beyond my imagination.
A one dollor tip?
Made my delivery night.
Over 100 miles driven, on any given night. At best, $5 bucks over 10+ hours.
Damn sure, there's folks on this list that handed me $8 for a a $7.90 pizza and awaited a dime in return.
**** yuh!

My response was in regards to having a chance to play again at Penn State, not the pro's. I assume you aren't suggesting that very, very few of them will get playing time at Penn State.

If a player transfers (ISU beyond) and doesn't start, or get considerable playing time, is transferring $'s worth it?
If ISU offered me $200k, and PSU offered me $250k, my parents would step in, asking, "Do you think you'll play at the next level? If not take the extra 50k."
My response."Hell yeah, blah, blah, blah," NFL reality aside.
I don't see many of our transfers playing next level, other than #31 (forget his name).
Previous CMC classes have featured numerous highly athletic players.
I don't see "that," in this class of transfers beyond #31.
Should have added Brahmer.
He's next level.
Lazard pt. II?

Who knows?
If I was transfering elsewhere, top of my thoughts? Will I see playing time?
If not, the bag of cash trumps my desire to play beyond college.
I have zero idea who ISU transfers to PSU and sees meaningful playing time.
Rocco? Not. Toss in Hansen.
One of dem damn good college backs...nary an NFL chance beyond special teams.

Weighing here n' now cash as opposed to next level paychecks?
One helluva of a thought process given 18-22ish.
Breece, David were next-level-obvious, McDonald, Tampa, and Charlie, included.

Ps. "Mr. Irrelevant."
We'll never ever see again.

I am not talking about NFL playing time. I am talking about playing time at Penn State. Do you think those transfers won't get playing time at Penn State?

I don't think Campbell is going to recruit a bunch of people just to have warm bodies or to make the fans happy. He'll look for culture guys who want to be in his program. Guys who enter the portal just for a payday aren't going to be a priority. In the long run, culture is critical to get guys who will work hard and play hard and stay together as a team
