I think Campbell and Rocco were mainstays of ISU football. If Campbell takes Rocco, I hope there is never a statue of him at ISU.

You're right. It's just 'business'. And that is why I don't like it anymore. No loyalty. No dedication. Those are things when I was in college, stood for something. Let's be clear. I'm not bitter. I'm just simply stating that my fandom is stuck with the way things used to happen; bowl games spread across the holidays. But the CFP, the portal, NIL, AWOL players, etc have absolutely demolished my interest. I'm worried that basketball is next on the extermination list of media greed.

MC never gets the statue now. That was part of the calculus when deciding to leave. He will always be welcomed back but he doesn't get to be celebrated or have a place of honor like that here.I think Campbell and Rocco were mainstays of ISU football. Not like it is today, it’s a diminishing product.Cfb has been about greed for 50 plus years.
It is unfortunate that college sports has come to this. I cannot remember the last time I heard of a major college athlete get declared academically ineligible. In my professional life? Yep.
So no tears when they go.
All transactional. Played/coached. Got paid. We watched. They move on. We move on.
No more. No less.
I agree. But, the ambiguity of a clear distinction of 'best' at least made several bowl games not only palatable, but even interesting. Now, it's way different. And the looseness of rules has made the whole college football post season an absolute mess. At least men's basketball, though surrounded by the same rules hasn't been infected by the post season non-participation bug and/or abandonment bug.Cfb has been about greed for 50 plus years.
Campbell doesn’t care if Rocco is the eighth most talented QB in the portal. He’ll go with his culture guy even after his next three pick sixes. Gotta believe Ped St fans are 50/50 on this one.I absolutely wish Rocco well.
But, if it isn't guaranteed he is going to PSU, he is now in the portal vs Hoover, Raiola, Leavitt, Sorensby (although he already sounds committed) Laggway, Craig...... that is a LOT of good quarterbacks if you are looking for the cash.
Have you checked how many jackrabbits are in the NFL?The fact is CMC has credibility with NFL scouts and front offices when it came to putting players there. CJFnR is going to have to develop and display that for a bit before his players are given the same opportunities. I think Rocco's best chance to make an NFL roster was staying, but if he was on the viewed as being on the outside edge of being a draftee, having a coach NFL teams trust for borderline guys might make the difference in getting there or not.
Maybe could set his market value higher though too...hot housing market never hurts the seller.I absolutely wish Rocco well.

Then, he will ALWAYS be a Cyclone to me.He has an Iowa State degree. All you can ask of him.

Sad to see him go. Good Luck Rocco.
Hope they lose the Pinstripe Bowl this year TOO!I’m rooting for Penn State to lose every game next year. I disliked them before all this but I will even root for Iowa to beat them.
