Rocco joining the Transfer Portal

I can’t wait to root against Penn State. Also, I honestly don’t think Rocco fits in Rogers system. That being said, if Manske or Moberly leave that will be concerning.
Why? They were recruited by a different staff for a different offense. Doesn't mean they won't stay, but I will not be shocked or concerned if any player from this season leaves. Just the way of the world.

More upset about what this means for others leaving.

I think his best shot at the NFL was being the all time leader in multiple categories at Iowa State after Purdy.

NFL fans and teams care about that crap. People overlook the reality Brock wouldn’t be where he is today had SF had an even 80% Jimmy G or Trey Lance able to play in those games.

As someone who hates Pedo State so much they’re the only team I root for Iowa against…I hope he doesn’t go there.
You sure?? The reports were that KS told the owner that their best QB wasn’t the starter at the beginning of the season and he was talking about Brock.

The fact is CMC has credibility with NFL scouts and front offices when it came to putting players there. CJFnR is going to have to develop and display that for a bit before his players are given the same opportunities. I think Rocco's best chance to make an NFL roster was staying, but if he was on the viewed as being on the outside edge of being a draftee, having a coach NFL teams trust for borderline guys might make the difference in getting there or not.

I’m no scout but watching Mateer and Simpson last night I didn’t come away crazy impressed.
Rocco could absolutely start on either of those teams
Not impressed by QBs playing against playoff-caliber defenses? Then compare to footage of our game against Colorado.

I bet Campbell tries to bring him there. I could also see Nebraska make a run at him with a bag of cash. That coaching staff and AD has to be feeling some heat after the way their season ended and then their legacy QB bails.

It's easy for me to wish Fred well with nebrasketball but it would be really hard to pull for Rocco at Husker football. I'd just tune it out because I can't pull against him.

I understand Rocco moving on, but I really respect him as a leader and believe his staying would go a long way to keeping more of last year's team intact for next year. But that isn't how any of this works. Best of luck to him, I hope he tears it up wherever he lands, assuming it's not PSU.

There's lots of mediocre in the SEC and we saw two mediocre teams play last night. Don't think much of teams like Oregon either. We'll see though, might be wrong on that one.

I was hopeful he’d stay for his senior season, but understand his desire to explore his opportunities

Thanks for not only being a great QB, but for being an even better person for the community. Not many players use their NIL money to host a football camp for a town that had many tragedies.

Even though you will no longer be in Ames, you will forever be remembered for your community support

Thanks, Rocco

Well, Rocco wasn’t a good fit for the offense and to be honest I really don’t think he is going to be hard to replace.
I will say this will officially start the domino effect .

I thought it was already common knowledge he was going to Penn St. it’s pretty known around Ames already and has been for a while.

People knocking him for leaving need to get a grip. It's business.
You're right. It's just 'business'. And that is why I don't like it anymore. No loyalty. No dedication. Those are things when I was in college, stood for something. Let's be clear. I'm not bitter. I'm just simply stating that my fandom is stuck with the way things used to happen; bowl games spread across the holidays. But the CFP, the portal, NIL, AWOL players, etc have absolutely demolished my interest. I'm worried that basketball is next on the extermination list of media greed.
