Just saw Rocco Becht on this weeks Heisman 5 list!

We might not be through 2025's opening scenes, but we've already upended the Heisman race and slayed a giant.

If we are nitpicking, the author failed to mention that Rocco only worked 2 1/2 quarters to garner those stats and failed to mention his completion percentage, but it's refreshing to know that Rocco is on ESPN's radar. Certainly not an ISU team goal but if Rocco remains in the top five Heisman race we could be looking at a fairly successful season

Just a Cydnote: Paul Hornung of Notre Dame won the Heisman in '56 with a team record of 2-8. Old-school thinking would think "that is such an Iowa State thing to do" but Campbell & Co. are erasing those thought processes plus the media today would probably not allow it to happen--so yes, I agree, but being born in '54 it's taken time to shake those possibilities.

I hope this generation of Cyclone fans truly appreciate the position of ISU athletics because it's never been better than it has been recently.
