With so many guys in the portal and more being added every day, I just absolutely don't get this move. Jaz has all the underlying analytics saying he can be a contributor at the P6 level and really came on strong late so while he may not be the flashiest name, there's reason to believe he can be a part of a winning team. But unless this like directly gets us one of his high school teammates, I can't say I get taking a player like this so quickly when there are so many moving parts this spring specifically.

Agree. Nice that we still have 2-3 more positions to fill, so hopefully more impactful players on the way.

Because you were being sarcastic..

No.......I was dead serious. Let me preface that none of what I post is directed at TJ. He has promised us nothing. It's the crowd on this site that was making his anointing the reason today is Good Friday. Promise us the world........then say don't expect talent like Marcus Carr as if he were the next Michael Jordan. Then.....don't think Mr. Jones is good enough. Well......that's being blind without a cane. What is it? TJ is either the bomb or he isn't. Funny how things get reasonable when the ink is dry.

Kane is like the number 17 all-time scorer for Marshall.
I apologize. I just went off his jr. stats at Marshall. I know he was highly recruited once he announced that he was transferring. I'm just really hopefull that Robert Jones can make a impact.

That's a whole straw village right there.

I also wonder if the new asst. coach from Colorado State was a factor in recruiting this guy. I could be completely wrong about that. I'm really only basing that idea on the fact he played at Denver.
I kind of thought that too. I'm sure he was able to keep an eye on his career and game since both were in the same State. My guess is he had some valuable input in taking this guy.

I think so. Being that Colorado State is in a better conference then Denver.
I'd be surprised if they don't keep their eye out for potential transfer targets in the same state. Hopefully it works out. I think another big body in practice is good for guys like Foster and Conditt.

Got it I completely misunderstood you then and I apologize.

If the goal here is for a practice squad player, I guess this fits but TJ will have to prove there is something here the rest of us are missing.

Going 0-18 is exactly why the team needs difference makers. Neither of the signees so far are difference makers. I think Hunter will be and if Bolton stays, he could be as well with Hunter taking one the PG duties. We can only go by the information available at this point and based on that, there is not a significant upgrade.

I guess if you think the expectation is to make the tourney next year or something. We just need to get better next year, tread water, get the fans some hope, and let the staff get their recruiting machine going.

Not sure how good this get is, our even our HC at this point; but at least we are getting away from 4G , zero rebound effort, and weak rim protection. GC did have some blocks, but he had more fouls.

What do you know about Robert Jones other than a stat line?
