RIP Neil Sedaka

Love that the uncredited backup singer in this song happens to be Elton John.

He had so many hits that he wrote for himself and other artists which spanned several decades. This is probably the one he's best known for. Very catchy tune:

He was just on Bill Maher last week and seemed very healthy. Guy was one of the last of his generation and the way he talked on Maher's show, quite the horn dog. Loved the women.

I was reading up on him when I stumbled across the anecdote that he wrote Stairway to Heaven. I had a hard time believing this 50s bubble gum rock 'n' roll guy wrote a hard rock anthem like that. I eventually found out that it was a different Stairway to Heaven that he wrote, a bubble gum version, if you will.

I remember as a kid listening to him with my mom. Some great memories. Dude was a monster song writer. I think Calendar Girls was probably my favorite. RIP Neil hope you make some great music in the great beyond

Age and nostalgia...but to me...some songs were just meant to be listened to on AM radio! I know this isn't true by any technicality...Neil fits that category for me...radio on, windows down, sunny outside and my Dad singing along with Neil Sedaka or Paul McCartney...just good memories and good vibes!
