Really worked out for his bank account though lolJust another reminder that college coaches jumping to the NFL almost never work out. Pete Carroll is about the only success story I can even think of.
Pete Carroll was an assistant at ISU one year. Made his resume top 10!Just another reminder that college coaches jumping to the NFL almost never work out. Pete Carroll is about the only success story I can even think of.
Because they were pros at SC. Ask Reggie's Heisman.Just another reminder that college coaches jumping to the NFL almost never work out. Pete Carroll is about the only success story I can even think of.
Jimmy Johnson, and to a lesser extent Jim Harbaugh, also come to mind.
Johnson is definitely the unicorn of college coaches making the jump to success in the NFL.
Harbaugh is somewhat ambiguous to me because he played so long in the NFL (switching between starting and backup QB) and then was a position coach for the Raiders before taking a college job.
He feels like Hoiberg to me. Yeah, he coaches college some of the time but sees himself as an NFL guy. I could see him jumping back into the NFL at some point if some owner threw him enough money.
He hasn’t had success in either.Kliff Kingsbury has had more success in the NFL than he did in college.
I'll sign up for that all day long.Heard he will be getting about $850,000 per month for the next 4 years for his buyout. Not too shabby.
He took Temple from worst to first in three years, iirc, and beat PSU along the way. He also took Rapelor from worst to first in three years. It might be smoke and mirrors...I'd love for it to be smoke and mirrors and for UNL to get fooled, but I believe he could get Nebraska into the B1G CCG in three years if the joke B1G West still exists.I don't think Rhule is even that good of a coach. He had one good year at Baylor and it was one of the Big 12's worst years. Somehow in 3 years at Baylor never beat a ranked team.
He hasn’t had success in either.
He would be perfect for them.Quite truthfully, he's the sleeze they yearn for.
Jerry had a lot to do with how quickly that went south too.He even managed to screw it up one year.
And lost in the wild card. He made bowls games and got fired from his alma mater.Made the playoffs.
For what it's worth, betting sites have Kliff as the 3-2 odds on favorite to be the next NFL coach fired.Kliff Kingsbury has had more success in the NFL than he did in college.
