Retirement Targets

I don’t think that’s a problem for most in this thread. If you’re 10+ years out, it’s “stocks are on sale…carry on”. 5-10…it likely doesn’t matter either. Inside of 5 I suppose you might feel a bit nervous that you’ll end up working an extra year or two.
I was done at this time this year, as of this time last year. - $200,000.00 later......... Lost my nerve.

Let me throw some water on this party. The finance guys I trust the most online think the market has another 15+% decline in it during 2023. They think bonds will rebound and yield over 10% in 2023. I haven't dug into the details, that was just their first broad perspective of what they foresee.

& The newsletter I subscribe to says the market bottomed in October and we will see new highs by the end of next year. There is a buyer for every seller. It is always just someone’s forecast.

And when you look at their advertising, someone is always right. We just don't know who that someone is.

I just filled in my end of year spreadsheet.
Down $149k and some change from this time last year.

I intend on hanging it up in 2 more years. 731 more days (stupid leap year)

I’ll do mine on Monday. Want to wait for my 31-Dec paycheck 401k contributions to come through.

I always like updating my yearly personal balance sheet. This year won’t be quite as fun….

Retired a year early this past April. My investments had a bad year, but my mental health is up 200%. 42 years in industrial automation sales and enjoyed the chase. CRM, micro management through spreadsheets and supply chain crap overcame any financial worries going forward. Ready to travel to football games in the future. Go Cyclones!

My full retirement date is March of 2025 as well. I figure the end of 2024 and chill a few months. Of course everything is subject to change

Have to have liked where its gone through first 3 months this year. Lots of uncertainty though.
