Reseating Hilton?

Based on the context it's in, my guess is something to do with adding more seats, I'm not sure how they'd do that though. Or possibly adding suites, which would possibly cost enough to be a smart economic move for the athletic department and help to pay whatever Hoiberg's contract ends up.

How in the world does Texas make 16 million a year from the MBB program while ISU makes 9 million? That does not make a bit of sense.

I would say hold off for a bit. A little soon to be reseating right as we've had some success, especially if you move some that were in it for the long haul in the bad years.

Boosters. Same can and will be done at ISU, to the extent it is possible.

Donor levels movin on up. Student section will be smaller. Gotta turn Hilton into a full time cash machine.

Honestly, all the talk about Fred moving to the NBA seems to have revolved around money. Dreamy has had no shortage of cash after his career in the NBA and the front office. I highly doubt he will leave us for the dollar signs. He will leave for a bigger coaching challence, but not after his sons graduate at least high schoool. Book it.

I do not think there is a uniform way they allocate donations between football and basketball for the report on revenue by sport. Texas and Kansas both get a lot more from donations than Iowa State does. Texas because it is Texas, and Kansas because of the seating rules for Allen Fieldhouse.

Reseating means that the current season ticket systems will start over. There will be zones established and a point system based on donations. Great season tickets will require a large donation to sit in those seats. It is a way the the school can make more money from the same amount of seats

Question: Would you like to make 1-2 million more off of Hilton to lose what Hilton Magic is?

Of course not. What kind of question is that? Even if we added seats by re-arranging them or added suites it wouldn't do anything negative. There is no way anything that would cause that is on the table.

This isn't GIA. That place held like 9,000 people before its renovation. They blew the roof off and added 4,000 seats.

That isn't even what reseating is though from what I have seen. It just means that season tickets and donor stuff resets so people who don't donate much money don't get really good seats and higher donors get worse seats.

If we can get over the 15k mark, I'd be happy with it. I wish we could get it up to 16 but that's probably not doable.

That was in response to the discussion on Texas v ISU. Not asking a question that I think needs answered. I am not a fool.

Truly not trying to make this a students thread but the empty seats at the ends of Hilton being filled would not reduce the magic...it would enhance it. Students are important but sold out (with the seats actually being filled) creates the magic.

I think the media forgets Iowa state is more than just a job and pay check to CFH. The guy grew up seeing games in Hilton and being a ball boy. The guy got his education at Iowa state, the guy wore the colors of cardinal and gold. CFH is Iowa State. Iowa and more specifically Ames area is home to CFH. Being corn fed and Iowa bred as he is, and a lot of us here are for that matter, money is nice but there are much more important things in life like family. Iowans know this to be true and media often forgets this. Iowa state is freds family not just a pay check. Loyal son forever true, hoiberg will fight that battle through.

I agree and would be shocked if he left anytime soon. But I thought the same thing with Cael.
