I wonder if Brad Stevens will mention the Final Fours they've been to recently?

I would imagine that he is looking at changing his legal name to Brad "I've been to two championship games" Stevens.

The great part is that it has been so recent that these kids remember watching Hayward's shot. I probably think they omit the actual game info about the UConn game, but still an amazing effort.

I am a big fan of this guy, he is tremendous

Yeah, has anybody heard? If we land him, does that mean we are no longer chasing after Abu and Travis? With three openings, I'm wondering if Hoiberg is only going after one big man and two guards, or if he's got other ideas. If we land Jaylen Johnson, my wishlist for our other two recruits are Vaughn/Macura (I think we're more likely to land Macura than Vaughn) and Travis (still hoping we get him since he can play the 3). NC State is chasing after Travis pretty hard, and they're tough to compete against in the recruiting market. Just look at their class for '12, '13, and who they've already signed for '14.

Ditch the mentality that there's only three spots for this class. I doubt Fred would back off of some of his other post targets but I guess you never know.

Butler is a great academic school, but I don't see a kid getting wowed by a visit to the Butler campus. The athletic facilities are not on par with ours. Hinkle is an awesome old school field-house with a lot of history, but a game there is not even close to the atmosphere we have at Hilton in my opinion. In general, I think Butler has more pull with Indiana kids than they do with out of state kids.

Butler does have a pretty big amount of name recognition right now though. Macura seems like a perfect fit for them actually. Hopefully it can't hold a candle to ISU in his mind.

Travis is a pipe dream right now imo. Abu needs to take a visit before I feel better about him. Anyone know how Johnson's visit went?

Macura is visiting Butler. Don't be surprised if he pulls a Grandstaff.

Good call. Rumor over on gopher hole they mentioned that Butler has been recruiting him hard and should be considered the favorite prior to his visit.
Also it was thrown out that his family was/is miffed at the U of Minny because they haven't officially offered him yet. Just hearsay on a message board but I found it interesting.

First time I've been on here since Grandstaff committed to OSU. I can't believe Ford's ability to recruit. Do players/students who commit there realize they will play all of their home games in front of empty seats? Not to mention it is Stillwater, OK?
They call it Still Water for a reason.

Was reaading that, too, that Macura might commit at Butler on the visit. Besides, he was only at a team camp here and was talked to by Hoiberg and offered but its not like it was an official visit yet. If he likes Butler that well, he might not even get to see or care about our great fan support, Hilton atmosphere, practice facility, etc. Having not heard more about Macura for a longer period of time, I have no idea if we'd be really missing out or not.

Even if you take out Vaughn that is a good class. Say take out Vaughn and add another good player. That would be top 25 easily.

Funny how Scout doesn't even list ISU as a team interested in Cunningham or vice versa. Iowa is on there though. Perhaps it is a typo?

I think Fred identified him as a priority late (within the last two months) and Scout hasn't updated the profile. I read previously that he was suprised by the offer when it came.

Yahoo Sports: Rivals.com Ranking - Top 150 for the class of 2014

New Rivals 150 out. Custer down to 113.

Other noteables:
Vaughn - 7
Travis - 40
Abu - 50
White - 51
Terrell - 62
Jaylen Johnson - 64
Cunningham - 69
Marcura - 126
O'mara - 141

You would think out of the 9 of them, we could land at least 2 more top 150 guys.

Edit: Also noteable, Nick Babb #127

Nick Babb at #127 is slightly surprising and very notable. I have a hard time believing that while we still haven't offered him, he isn't somewhat ours for the taking if we want him and do decide to offer (maybe I'm delusional with this too). Lets say we miss on a few of these really big time guys, I'd hardly say rounding out a class with Nick would be a bad thing at all. In fact, I'd be perfectly happy to have him as a part of our team and use up one of our few scholarships we have left to give. Now that he is getting some spotlight on himself, it will also be interesting to see what other programs take a liking to him as well. Personally, I don't think his offer list is finished right now.

Looks like everything on his list is mid-south and mainly Texas, he might want to stay close to home and has made it known.

Or just let him transfer here in a couple years. :jimlad:
