Recruit Lists v2.0

Man are we going to have a talented backcourt for years to come. If the frontcourt catches up, look out college basketball world.

I think what excites me most is the depth (I think) we'll have. I'd love to rotate 5 guards in 2-3 guard sets without giving up much. I'd love to sub Morris for Jones, and continue to pick apart teams offensively, while rotating Naz, Thomas, and SDW in spots 2-3.

in a related matter, I am also excited to have a PG with a highly-touted bball IQ. For as talented as Lucious is, I think it's safe to say by now that he's not a heady player. Niang is showing off his bball IQ, and ability to find an open player (Gibson) when he's covered. Now having a PG with the mind to get the ball to the posts in creative, effective ways, all the while having Thomas snipe from the arc. The future team can't help but have more chemistry than the one we've seen so far. We might take a step back next year, or we might not. Either way I feel pretty damn good about '14-'15.

Que jokes about the '15 recruiting class now...

I am scared we'll pay the price for our weak post recruiting when MM and MT are getting into the prime of their careers.

I'd wait period.

In this era, you can make (or break) your roster after signing day.

You don't need posts when MT is hitting 9 of 10 three's a game.

i hate to bring facts into the recruiting arena, but i have verified that matt thomas is indeed human. he was 2-13 from three and missed two free throws his most recent high school game.

Monte with 25 points tonight and sat most of the 4th quarter. Good lord, I can't to see him and Thomas in the same backcourt next year.

The thing I love about Monte is he could score 30 every night if he wanted to but he doesn't have a score first mindset, he has a play maker mindset. He is the perfect kid for the future of the point guard position at Iowa State

Big game in Wisconsin tonight with Onalaska vs LaCrosse Aquinas pitting Matt Thomas vs Bronson Koenig tonight.

Halftime is tied up at 30 points. Thomas has 6 points; Koenig has 5 points.

Thomas has at least two air balls early on. Seemed like he was trying to do too much and forced a few shots. By my tally Thomas is 2-4 FT, 2-7 FG being 0-2 from behind the arc. Also, has 3 assists, at least 3 rebounds (2 offensive) and also 2 turnovers.

Onalaska loses by 2 to Aquinas. Matt Thomas got the ball w/ 7 seconds left on the in-bounds, was double teamed immediately and lost the ball trying to go through the defenders.

Thomas finished with 18 points but never got into a shooting rhythm. 6-10 FT, 6-19 FG w/ 0-5 beyond the arc. Also had 2 blocks, 3 assists and at least 5 rebounds. Also had 5 turnovers.

Wisconsin commit Bronson Koenig finished with 8 points for Aquinas. Final was 46-44.
