Or reality says that with so many talented guards on the roster, it only makes sense that one/some will leave to seek playing time.

And as much as we always want to be a bottom feeder, Fred is not satified with 4th place so he is looking at more talent, so it's to be expected that we will recruit over some people. Get better or lose out, that is the point were at right now

Check @ESidery for the entire tweet sequence - here are the interesting tidbits from his timeline:

@ESidery: Had the chance to talk to 2015 point guard prospect and Butler target, Munis Tutu (@MunisTutu_) of La Lumiere. Will tweet some quotes.

@ESidery: Tutu has offers from Binghamton, Charleston, UMass, Detroit, & Kent State. Iowa State is the team pursuing him hardest, without an offer.

@ESidery: If Butler offered Tutu, would they be at or near the top? Here is what Munis said on that, "I think yes they would be certainly."

@ESidery: Are there any schools that he couldn't say no to them if they offered. Here's what Tutu said, "Kentucky, UNC, Michigan, or Kansas."

@ESidery: After talking to Munis Tutu personally and from asking about him to other reporters, sounds like his recruitment is about to blow up.

Meh, could be a waste of time if he does "blow up"

AMA would be a phenomenal get for us and fills a huge need. Then if we could land 2 more between RV, Jaylen Johnson, Bonsie Colson, JP Macura or Cunningham, we would be amassing talent like we've never had before.

Paraphrase: If we get a bunch of really good players we'll have a lot of good players. :) (jk)

As a fan of yesterday's ISU I'm a little nervous watching Fred right now. Last year he a hit a couple home runs, but this year he has the chance for a grand slam, and I just get the feeling he'll strike out (rep for awesome baseball analogy?)

I wouldn't mind if we swung for the fences and happened to get a single with a couple ribies. At least we're on base instead of popping out.

Just wondering but if we got Clayton Custer, Bonzie Colson, J.P. Macura, and a JuCo big if the spot opened, what would everyone be feeling? Would people be excited with that? Because obviously everybody wants JJ, AMA, and RV.

Yeah I would be happy. I would feel a little let down at the same time that we missed on Vaughn/Tillman/Johnson/Cunningham/Abu etc. but those would still be good players

Fred is at nearly every event for RV... I just have this gut feeling that all his hard work will pay off in the end. Besides, Fred is a very smart guy and knows he has a legitimate shot to land RV. Otherwise, why would he use so much of his recruiting resources and time on him? I would go so far as to say that Fred is the most trustworthy coach recruiting him. I honestly feel ISU has an excellent shot at getting him greater percentages than some of you guys predicted in the Rashad Vaughn thread...

I feel a lot better about our chances now than I did a month ago

Hope your right. Would be quite something if we landed him.

I'd be very happy with Macura, Cunningham, and Custer.

I'd be surprised at this point if Hoiberg doesn't land two of the following recruits to go along with Clayton Custer: Travis, Abu, Johnson, Cunningham and Macura. Rashad Vaughn won't decide until the Spring. He'd be the biggest recruit ever for Iowa State and clearly we'd make room for him.
