Recruit Lists v2.0

Rice must be using that King of Queens money to buy recruits.

Fisher to UNLV instead of Memphis (keeps the Tigers as an option for Moore)

@TheRecruitScoop: 2016 Bolton (TN) guard Jaylen Fisher - a top-60 recruit - has committed to UNLV.

@jeffborzello: Memphis will now turn to Charlie Moore and Tyson Carter as point guard priorities. Both took official visits over the last few weeks.

UNLV has an assistant from Memphis (Miller) who is connected with the AAU team of Fisher. That's the connection, so it's not as random as one might think.

Don't get the obsession with UNLV but whatever. I certainly wouldn't go play for Rice but it might be time to let it go. Do we even play them?

dave rice for me is the slow motion trainwreck. there's just something compelling about watching a coach fail with great talent against mediocre competition.

but i get why recruits go there. that doesn't bother me at all.

It may be hard to motivate players to a team approach if they live in Vegas. Showtime.

And next year, when he gets a top 50 recruit from Idaho, he will have an assistant connected to that AAU team, and the year after that ..., and the year after that ...
All this ensures is that I will not see any of these elite athletes play a single half of basketball (at least while they are in college) - especially during the month of March.

I just flat out don't understand why people dislike UNLV so much. Shocking. A kid wants to go to school in Las Vegas. Not to mention we weren't even in the running for Fisher. We didn't even get an unofficial.

You have to keep in mind the whole reason this was brought up is that Fischer was down to UNLV and Memphis. Since Moore was considered a Memphis lean, it would have helped us potentially land Moore if Fischer would have went there rather than UNLV.

I'm not sure I would steer my son to play for Rice, but there are a lot worse schools to lose recruits to. I could take them or leave them.

Until Moore schedules a visit I'm not going to fret about him. His visit list has been far too convoluted to assume he'll visit here.

I was thinking we were recruiting fisher at one point

Kids are 18... what can they do legally in Vegas?
