If a kid doesn't think Ames is very lively, which would be understandable if they came during the summer, the weekend of the ISU Iowa game is the time to bring them in

Well, for whatever reason I didn't come away from that article thinking Johnson would end up here. Not sure why; perhaps it was the way the coach seemed to qualify positives for ISU with 'we'll see where he wants to go in the end, but...'.
Probably reading too much into it but felt like pointing out I don't feel better about our chances after reading that article either. But then again, chances have seemed slim to me since he expressed so much interest in Louisville.
Where did it say we were on his list of officials unless you are talking about someone else?well, they didn't interview him for the article, so I am not sure how you are going to get a quote from that. The coach said he liked the players.
If you are talking about overall not seeing a quote from him that is another thought. But your comment was about the article and you said that 'even sugar coating it, it wasn't too positive.' My question was what would it take for you to be positive about it? Because I felt like it was an OK article from Iowa State's point of view. If I sugar coated it, I would latch on to the fact that the mother likes Iowa State and that would be a pretty huge positive.
And, hell, we are getting an official visit from a kid who may not have loved Ames as much as we wanted him to the first time. Obviously, he cares enough to come back and that is a positive.
You mean chatter on the internet isn't the gospel truth? I mean SOME have him pegged going to Louisville. He didn't actually say that, but SOME did.....over the internet no less. Now, we don't know who that SOME is, but because it was said over the internet shouldn't that mean it is settled? Probably the only reason he is coming back is because his mom likes CFH and co. that she probably told her son to be a nice guy and humor them with an official. So don't put too much stock in his return because we all know that when SOME say things over the internet.....it's as good as money in the bank.State43 is really climbing the ranks of most clueless posters at CF. I can't believe how sensitive and dramatic some of you guys are. There was nothing to take from that article other than Johnson is visiting again.

and to be fair, I could have worded my first post differently.
You forgot that he is coming back for the Iowa - Iowa State game the biggest "negative" of them all.I'll summerize it for you:
1. People have assumed Louisville is the favorite. His coach thinks it is wide open now.
2. Taking officials to Oregon, Louisville, and Florida State
3. Coach said that Mann and Hoiberg have done a good job showing up for lots of games this summer
4. Coach says he fit in well with the team on his June visit and the style of play fits him well
5. Coach says that Hoiberg and Mann have good relationship with his mom, which will be important
6. Coach is interested in seeing what happens with his decision.
So, you can see why someone would read that article, sugar coat it, and still come away thinking Iowa State doesn't have much of a chance.

I have an opinion that you don't share and missed a quote from an article and it makes me one of the most clueless posters. Good work jahfg. When you finish reading this, gfy. j
I assume this means we are one of his top 3.Scout.com: Three visits locked in for Johnson
Lets just hope UL lands Lyles just before our visit and he cools on them. One can hope.I'm glad he's visiting ISU before Louisville. This way, we should at least have a chance to put our best foot forward before he visits Louisville. Would be a bummer to have a high target commit a week before the official visit.
