Intriguing indeed, first I had seen of Kuzma associated with ISU, though I had seen him receive a number of offers recently.
I cam across some video from the July period... Seems have an outside shot and comfortable handling the ball. the article also mentions ISU was showing interest, it would make since if the staff was watching Jaylen Johnson this kid would catch their eye.

2014 Kyle Kuzma reeling in offers

Mmmmmmmmmmmmmmm

Article on Jaylen Johnson's Louisville recruitment... ISU is in contention but he (or at least his coach) is really impressed with the Cardinals. Of course it is a Louisville paper so it would be slanted to Pitino as it should be.

"Iowa State and Oregon also are well-positioned for official visits. Michigan State, UNLV, Florida State, Texas A&M, Cincinnati, Xavier, Southern Cal, and Michigan are also recruiting him."

“I don’t know if the kid has a favorite, but I would say Louisville is one of the top few schools” on the list, Vaughn-Dawkins said.

I trust those articles minus the opinion part sine they are the most biased opinions. Of course Louisville is going to be listed as the favorite here.

Hopefully Louisville is in more of a wait and see mode with JJ and other posts they're recruiting. If that is the case, then we could reel him in. Of course him visiting Michigan yesterday doesn't help matters.

Hopefully MSU and Michigan got into the race for him too late.

Well this came together quick. In retrospect we just have to ask Man Man to tell us where the recruiting winds are blowing

@TravisHines21: Originally from MI RT @TheRecruitScoop: Iowa State offered 2014 Rise Academy (PA) forward Kyle Kuzma.

I think the general consensus among recruiting analysts is that Louisville, Iowa State, and possibly Oregon are in Jaylen Johnson's top group. I remember a quote from his coach in an article a bit ago that Johnson was pretty much guaranteed to take officials to ISU and Louisville. That would tend to indicate that those two schools made the best early impression on Jaylen. I'd be shocked at this point if ISU weren't in it until the very end with JJ. Louisville may ultimately win out, but it sounds to me like Fred and staff are really after Johnson hard and have made a positive impression thus far. It's also good news that he is seeking a return visit this fall given the (unsubstantiated) rumor that he didn't enjoy his first visit. That reeked of a person stirring the pot all along though.

Speaking of Jaylen and Louisville... Trey Lyles, one of the Top Posts in '14 has announced his visit to Loisville Aug 31. His top 4 are Louisville, Kentucky, Butler, and Florida. Obviously if he were to commit to Pitino it could influnce JJ to come to Ames.
(yes I know it feels off to root for Rick to land a big, but it's for the greater good.)

What happened on his first visit?
