While this make sense, he's been their since 2002. He did their whole 'New American University' system. He increased their enrollment and probably made them a pisston of money. He might retire soon, but he ain't getting fired. He should though. I'd bet good money he was the president who floated the $50 million number. He needs to be ignored in the new Big XII.
As good of a map as I've seen for scheduling. I for 1 enjoy the Riot Bowl and approve our hillbilly buddies as our 3rd rival.
I like having WVU actually. Grown to like those guys. And my trip to Morgantown was amazing. I'd be cool with having OSU, CU, or WVU as a third rival, but I view KSU and KU as non-negotiable.
Which are the only decisions an athletic conference impacts. I’m not sure why people from ASU would be up in arms. He seems like an idiot, but I don’t think turning down $30 M media deal to get a different $30m is going to get him canned.
Keep in mind $30M is less than 1% of ASUs total revenue. I don’t ASU as a university is THAT hung up on being in the PAC, and I think GoR was going to be a hurdle with OU and UW at $30m anyway.

Totally agree. I don't think he gets canned either, as it seems like he's done some good work for the university. But to think that disgruntled fans are going to get him fired for decisions based solely on Athletics is crazy.
I do think that he wanted, and was doing anything he could to stay in the PAC as he sees those universities as more prestigious than the Big 12. It was only when Oregon and Washing announced they were leaving for the PAC that he was essentially in a corner to the point where the BOR would have told him to make the move.
I think Crow is going to be a PR issue for Big12 member institutions. I see him making underhanded comments about our schools as he doesn't seem to think we are at his level. I said it earlier, but the Big 12 needs to put him in his place.

Big 12 just added Nelly. Big move to counter potential Tupac holograms from Big Ten, I like keeping with a live person.
It's hard for me to imagine adding Stanford Cal in a way that doesn't open floodgates for the 4-8 ACC programs to bolt who want to bolt.
The only thing keeping them there would be ESPN/Fox asking for a slowdown.
Maybe they just want to rip the bandaid off.
Stanford/Cal doesn't tip the scales for them against the Big 12 even before their defections. The only thing that does that is full member ND.

I'd be totally indifferent in football to WVU vs OKSt/Colorado, especially Colorado.
In basketball, unless WVU changes its style which is possible post-huggy, it will be maddening if we are still guaranteed a rock fight @WVU every year in a gigantic 16 team conference. That's the best part about going from 10 to 16 in basketball, I haven't even watched that game recently because it's just a joke.
Even though it's the toughest game in the conference, I love @KU every year and I love that we've statistically had as much success there as any team including the defectors this century. Obviously bad calls @KU but a lot of the games are still very fun to watch win or lose.
