They do have the SEC network studios in Charlotte so that makes senseAgree, Clemson and FSU and Miami definitely bring more cred and cache but I do think the SEC would want to expand its footprint into North Carolina.

Do you think with the situation surrounding OUT and the threat of law suites, their buyout was probably high. I don’t know, but it seemed like they paid more than would have been expected. Just my take.I don't.
B12 had 3 years left on its GOR with exit fees when OUT announced for the SEC. OUT bought out of the B12 GOR with one year remaining on it.
PAC didn't have a GOR or exit fees.
ACC has 12 years left on its GOR, a $120M exit fee and +$500M in GOR buyout fees.
interesting. I'm new to the area and was surprised the city was so sad. gonna check out a game there is fall... along with MSU and michigan. should be greatSouth Bend was a thriving metropolis before the 60s. Once Studebaker went under and other industries left, it started its downward trend. After living there, my belief is that the school is the only thing keeping that area alive and not turning into another Gary, Indiana.
Has to be "Huggins Bowl" presented by Pabst Blue Ribbon. Huggie's a PBR guy.Can the Cincy-wv rivalry game be called the “Huggins Bowl” presented by Miller Light?
If enough ACC schools vote to disband, the GOR is out the window and all the “fees” you referred to are no more. There’s a reason OU/UT/ESPN were trying to FOMO more Big 12 teams to the AAC. Fortunately Texas A&M (inadvertently) thwarted that plan.I don't.

The campus is beautiful. When I go to games I never stay in South Bend, it's very expensive. I stay in Chicago and drive to and from the game. If you go, get to campus early and explore, I love the Ames campus but ND is on another level.interesting. Sorry, must be that great ISU English department. Engineers don't need to spell anyway.Who are they boarding?
L'ville, Pitt, GT and Duke to the Big12 then too? (UConn/SDSU if Duke gets a Big10 bid)My prediction when the ACC blows up:
FSU, Clemson, NC State, Va Tech to the SEC
UNC, UVA, Miami to the B1G
#4 B1G spot goes to ND if they want it, otherwise I could see Stanford or Duke.
Conference Numbers 2024:I think VT is a lock for the SEC as well. hope im wrong.
my guess is the SEC adds 4:
FSU, Clemson, NC State, and VT.
BIG:
UNC
UVA
Miami
Stanford or GT
You can't dissolve the ACC to terminate the GOR (and it has been confirmed the ACC GOR mirrors the B12's):If enough ACC schools vote to disband, the GOR is out the window and all the “fees” you referred to are no more. It is tougher to get the votes to disband a conference if you add more schools hence why FSU, Clemson, and UNC all are against.
NC State is super underrated in ACC expansion talk. They have traditionally had good attendance and a fanbase that is dedicated.I was watching Finebaum last week and there was talk about future SEC expansion and the overriding opinion from PF and callers was that NC State would be a much better fit with the SEC than UNC. The SEC currently has no presence in North Carolina. Maybe NC State sees itself as having a better than good chance at an SEC invite once the ACC poaching begins.
JFC after reading that, if I'm in charge of a P5 athletic dept, I'm never signing a GoR ever again. Talk about having your nuts chopped off.You can't dissolve the ACC to terminate the GOR (and it has been confirmed the ACC GOR mirrors the B12's):
If you look at it this way, there are 10 spots for 15 members. I think the general consensus is the BC wouldn’t make it, but the others 4 to be left out would be harder for me to pick.Conference Numbers 2024:
Big 10 -- 18
Big 12 -- 16
SEC ----- 16
ACC ----- 15 (football excludes Notre Dame)
Mountain West -- 11 +2 affiliated
PAC 10 - 4 (2024)
It is obvious that the B1G can only take two more teams or they would pass the 20 team magic number.
This means that the Big 12 can take four, including two from the Northeast, say NC and NCSt, and two from the south, say Miami and GaTech. Or you pickem.
The result would be to create three 20 team super conferences, thus simplifying things for ESPN, Fox, CBS, etc. and the football and basketball playoffs. The old ACC remnant would be left hanging with the Pac12 remnant, AAC, and Mountain West. And who cares about ND as they think they are better than all of us.

This is why so many of us say it is a lot harder to get out of the GOR than some think.JFC after reading that, if I'm in charge of a P5 athletic dept, I'm never signing a GoR ever again. Talk about having your nuts chopped off.
It will be 4 of these, BC is almost for sure out. Then the rest have at least an argument. And I can see any of those making it, or being left out.If you look at it this way, there are 10 spots for 15 members. Apparently Studebakers plant employed 30,000 at its peak when the city had 130,000. That’s crazy.South Bend was a thriving metropolis before the 60s. Once Studebaker went under and other industries left, it started its downward trend.
