Idk how i feel abt Stanford.

One hand, they are an incredible world leading university, with a hugely successful athletics dept. Great to build connections there. I dont think Stanford is nearly as exclusionary (like the old Ivies) based on family or class based on their genesis. And witness someones comment abt how they hold ISU engr and comp sci in high regard - thats not the mark of a "too good for you" school.

Otoh, they dgaf about football and dont really love sports like most schools, because they are too cool, rich and powerful. That successful AD is mostly about rich kid nonrev sports. Wont bring much tv interest except when they host ND. And they may always covet B1G.

Tldr; i dont know how i feel about it.

What an idiot

“23rd Century technology, available anywhere in the world at the touch of a button.” And he goes on and on. This is how he views streaming services. Out of touch? Um, just a little. He sounds like most members of Congress talking about tech. You have to literally try to be that uninformed about tech.

Here's the crazy thing: The Big 10 struck a billion dollar media deal. One quarter of that will go to the football head coaches. Granted a portion of it is allocated for buyouts that may never happen, but still...

It’s mHver so take it as you like. I would like to add Stanford and it makes sense to add a brand cali school so I’m posting it.

No need to reply mHver knows nothing. I’m aware. :p

Crow probably used Yormark as a reference. Calling to check if Crow really was that willing to let ASU die.

Vegas would be fun. And maybe it made sense for Pac12 as a money grab/central location.

But in looking at realignment map, I don't believe the Big12 added a school in Nevada. I'd prefer the Big12 financially support Big12 states.

KC's been a great site. But as the conference evolves, I would have no problem alternating sites between KC and (Denver or SLC)

Same in football- rotate between Dallas & Phoenix.

If we are going to celebrate a conference of equals (No Texas), the new 8 have an equal voice. So some compromises might need to be made.

But if those new sites don't support the Championships like KC or Dallas, then revert back to a single location.

I support the same belief. All the schools in our conference are those that aren’t good enough for the SEC or Big10. We should try and avoid subjugating the new adds, unless necessary (looking at you ASU and Utah).

For the bball tournament, I wouldn’t mind a schedule of two tournaments in KC and the third somewhere else in the conference. Or a 3/4 in kc with one somewhere else. I think similar to the Big12, the other conference members will eventually see the attendance and show KC puts on for basketball and see the value. This happened several years ago when Texas and Oklahoma eventually conceded having the bball tournament in the southern states, but at the cost of the football championship staying in the south.

Football is a little harder due to smaller amount of football stadiums. But Texas, KC, Arizona, Florida have options that hold Big13 teams. Then add in Las Vegas as a fun option, because it’s Vegas.

They have to spend the money somewhere. These are non-profits. It gets difficult to build huge cash balances and keep non-profit status. Crazy, I know.
