GK and the unwanted PAC members will just drag this out until it's too late for schools to do anything but stay in the PAC. If there is no deal, there's nothing to compare to the Big12 offer and you can't make a move without that comparison, right?

I would doubt GK can delay and it help keep the Pac10 together. The Big12 extension doesn't kick in until July 1, 2025 so would think Yormark and Big12 will be there for Pac12 schools as an option.

Whereas the Pac12 is on the clock and they probably need to get a deal done by June. And that's not just having $ they like, but also having GOR, revenue sharing and game/time slot exposure agreed upon. I would expect schools like UW & OR are going to demand more linear games and better times.

Who’s a more reliable source Wilner, Canzano, or MHVer3?
“The 3 Stooges of Misinformation”

But seriously, Canzano is a hack. He’s the worst because he’s a “legit” reporter and his spin is ridiculous. Completely out of his depth with all this.

I have some respect for Wilner, as I liked his pre-Realignment stuff. He sprinkles in some spin to what I find as honest, if misinformed speculation.

MHVER3 is a dude on the internet who plants nuggets, expounds on all the possibilities, and then highlights the ones he gets right while forgetting the ones he got wrong. I like the fantasy of his stuff but I wouldn’t bet the house on anything he says.

Fox again?? lol.

PAC 12 sources are trying to float this out there in hopes of driving up the price from additional players…that or as someone else the prices are cheap enough that they’re at least willing to come to the table to talk about a potential bargain.

There's not really a deadline per se, but there's a lot that goes into making a conference change and institutions the size of a University aren't exactly agile. 12 months seems like a very ambitions timeline. We're about 15 mos out from the expiration of the PAC's current deal.
Yea there is much more urgency on the Pac12. The Big12 has a TV deal and can move forward as a 12 team league no issues. And Presidents and AD's can prepare budgets for 2024/25 and beyond knowing their main revenue levers.

Pac12 Presidents & AD's are going to feel some urgency in the next 60 days as media rights money is a big missing piece in preparing their 2024/25 budgets. Especially for schools that have significant debt service if they recently did facility projects or stadium remodels.

Well CU and Arizona might have a folder in the bottom drawer with a set of alternative plans.

Just in case.

If Fox is involved, I'm guessing it's only because Apple needs them to produce the broadcasts since Apple doesn't have the infrastructure to produce their own games.

You guys have a very smart commish now. I wouldn’t be surprised if he has full proposals including scheduling figured out and lined up for the corner schools to look at to speed things up.

Yea, would think if Yormark has been talking to Corner 4 Presidents/AD's he would have firm #'s to give them. I wouldn't be a stretch if ESPN & Fox have said we are willing to match the $31.7M for specific Pac12 school scenarios. Aka they might be willing to take Oregon & Oregon State, but not Arizona & Colorado.
