Also if they were they wouldn’t be ranked (cincy might still be) Easy to put up a good W/L total when you play 75% or more of your games against non P5 teams.Cincy, BYU, Houston weren't in the Big 12 last year.

The Ivy cares about prestige. Getting Stanford and, arguably, the best public school in the country would really matter to them.
true and its not exactly our ADs business plan to spend big money on coaches and whatnot. plus you can live like a king in central iowa with a couple million annually, but cant say the same about big market states and cities.This. I don't love the financial gap between SEC/B10 and us but $50mil/year will be plenty to still compete for titles.
If I had any faith in it, I’d hope congress would get involved. This is more or less a monopoly, and several flagship universities are going to be hurt by this.
I don't think the Big 12 would want Duke, I think it would be more likely Duke joins a basketball only conference like the Big East.
Look at it this way, if Kansas weren't already in the Big 12, would the Big 12 be looking at adding Kansas?
Correct. This is showing what it would look like on last years performance. We are adding 3 schools who were in the top 20 of last years final CFP ranking.Cincy, BYU, Houston weren't in the Big 12 last year.

but i bet jamie would love that extra money to spend on facilities.
agreed, but you especially can in story county. You can live like a king in 95% of the country on 2 mil a year.

So like being in the b1g west you mean.Easy to put up a good W/L total when you play 75% or more of your games against non P5 teams.
Yeah I get that but it still doesn't make any sense, because those 3 schools didn't earn their records or their final rankings against a Big 12 schedule. I think Cincy had an SoS in the 90s. If they had to play those tougher Big 12 programs, as well as each other, there's no way they have those same records or that high of a ranking. And even if they did, it would mean that they'd have beaten some of those other ranked Big 12 teams, which would affect their final rankings. USC is poised for a good season, I think ranked top-10 preseason. If they make the CFP or finish in the top-10, it'd be just as silly for a B1G homer to try including that accomplishment to talk up the B1G next summer.Correct. This is showing what it would look like on last years performance. We are adding 3 schools who were in the top 20 of last years final CFP ranking.
Cincinnati is a top 20 program with their coach. BYU and Houston are bordering top 25 caliber. BYU has a global brand. Houston is a top 10 TV market. UCF has measured up to SEC powers in BCS bowls.
The big ten west, especially with Wisconsins decline is a joke that cincy would 100% have won last year. It’s a big reason for the scheduling changes that now have to happen with the Cali addsIt's always hard to say.
There were years the mountain teams outside the power conference (Utah, BSU, TCU) were legit good and proved it in bowls.
I think you have a point many times though. Houston beat 6-6 Auburn by 4 in their bowl.
I think Cincy would've easily won the Big Ten west and BYU, UCF and Houston would've all challenged for it last year. Every Big 12 team outside of KU and Tech would've, it was nothing special at all.
Unless you want to throw the Big Ten west in with American Athletic teams in terms of conference schedule paper tigers who go all season without proving much.
Hawkeye fans tell us it’s a gauntlet. The big ten west, especially with Wisconsins decline is a joke that cincy would 100% have won last year. It’s a big reason for the scheduling changes that now have to happen with the Cali adds
So, if ESPN tries to own the "best of the rest", their second tier conference will be gutted? How would that entice the four corner schools to the east coast, let alone Oregon and Washington? That contract would be dwarfed by the Big 12's.
If it was a gauntlet then a west team would have actually won the big ten in the last decade. Everyone knows the west is a joke. Iowa is a problem to play at Iowa but on the road they don’t scare anyone. Wisconsin is losing all their amazing linemen recruits that built the program and still doesn’t realize the forward pass is a thing. Nebraska must have broken a fun house worth of mirrors because they lost so many games last year that they really shouldn’t but it’s starting to hurt their recruitingHawkeye fans tell us it’s a gauntlet.
