JFC, not wasting any time here.
New media deal probably going to be announced relatively soon, which is why they finally decided to let this cat out of the bag.

Go 20. Washington State and Oregon State should be in the Mountain West.
Don't disagree with you at all there, I would have pointed out first that the NY market in no way shape or form is "covered" by the big ten.I get it but it just seemed like kind of the weakest flex possible seeing as the Big 10 is on the verge of dropping a nuclear bomb on college sports.

It doesn’t feel like to me that BIG adds only 2 schools from out west….IDKI wonder if we would be better off not having added the new 4 schools....if we were at 8 we could just merge with the Pac 10 and be 18 total....but then I suppose you risk the Pac 10 taking a couple Big 12 schools.
I wonder if the Big 10 just takes 6 schools and goes to 20....making a west coast wing....USC, UCLA, Oregon, Wash, and 2 others...
Really wonder what the new deal is going to be with these two. Makes it seems even more likely that it is just these two schools being added unless there is some solid language in the contract about adding more schools and how it effects payouts.New media deal probably going to be announced relatively soon, which is why they finally decided to let this cat out of the bag.
One thing that always kills me with most major college athletics stories like this is that a single reporter breaks the news, and literally within minutes dozens more reporters "can confirm" the story, and not an hour later there are stories on every major sports site about how this has been in the works for months, apparently right under the noses of all these reporters whose sources confirmed everything at the exact same moment.
There's a whole lot of lying and ass-covering going on and it's pretty gross.
Nice campus...visited there back in 2019 when daughter was doing college visits. Definite Ames vibes (but with mountains instead of grain silo's). The perception in Oregon between Oregon and Oregon State is very similar to the Iowa and Iowa State thingOregon State reminded me a lot of ISU though when I was in Corvallis, so I'd hate to see it happen to them. But you're right it'd probably be the better financial situation. Though if we are bringing in that many pac teams they may want to bring everyone (Washington and Oregon at least would have interest, and more west coast teams is better for travel for them)
If they leave at halftime of the game the week before, they'll be just fine...
Would probably be smarter to just have two sets of everything and put the other set into storage in SoCalImagine the equipment truck drivers going from Piscataway to Los Angeles lol
Oregon and Stanford (for example) won’t need a “life saver”.This. Why take only Utah, Colorado, Arizona and Arizona State? Take them all. We absolutely should not turn down the chance to throw a life saver to Oregon, Stanford, etc.
Let me dream, dammit!
