The FCS committee is only counting wins. When you replace a team outspending every other team by 40% with a team in your general budget range, it helps everybody.
They broke the FCS financial model which actively harmed dozens of other schools and especially the schools in the MVFC. Good riddance, it'll be great having everybody playing with the same general budget.
UNI is never going to get back to where we were fun the mud-80s until 2015 but at least this helps open the door to be a fringe playoff team regularly rather than what the last 2 years have been if we get the right staff in place.
University will just take on the debt and then forgive it. Arizona State did that for $300 million
Oh, you're probably right, but I read it the other way. That would have been a crap deal., for one year.
I am sure they are excited to trade trips to Brooking and Grand Forks with Vegas and Hawaii for fans with money.
If my count is right, that makes 9 FB schools in the Mt West moving forward. 2 schools do not sponsor FB in the conf. So I wonder if the goal is to add 1 more to fill the spots of those non FB schools and bring the number to an even 10.
Who else? One of the Montana schools? South Dakota St? Someone else? If they are trying to get to 10.
In an autobiography book former Nebraska AD Bill Moos was actively trying to gauge interest in Nebraska moving back to the Big 12.
By all means take them back, I don’t think a single person would notice or miss them and they are an academic anchor/outlier
They're going to win 8-9 games a year and play in the New Mexico Bowl.
I guess if they think that's better than winning natties, more power to them.
