They do start caring if academics are cut like at UW or student fees go up like at Minnesota. It drew the attention of the President. I could see it being proposed in Washington and Oregon.
Our state representative was called an idiot on twitter by u of I professor during covid so he has been itching to go after them nor is he afraid to. I wouldn’t put it past him to propose sharing of media rights. He might not, but it would be fun to see him do that and watch Beth go ballistic.
Yeah, you still don't have a flippin clue regarding the negative impacts to ISU and 25-30 other P4 schools if additional brand consolidation is permitted by the SEC and B10. But then again, you don't care.
And the B10/SEC sure as hell aren't going to double their revenues if ESPN/Fox get their way with PCSA not passing.

The bill will take effect upon enactment (passage and Pres signature). - not delayed. Passage will be tough but there won’t be any “beating the clock” once it passes.
1) BS, I lumped in 25-30 schools (including ISU) with Wazzu and Oregon St (who btw weren't the worst P4 programs)
2) Show me a recent link from a reputable industry writer who is projecting B10/SEC doubling their revenues without pooling and without somehow removing ESPN and Fox as their sole media rights holders.
This is how distraught non-P2 fans are over hypothetical realignment. Literally turning to the skies and shouting an appeal to Santa Claus

The Big Ten/SEC memo is no more or less valid than Cody Campbell pulling that number out of his study. Live sports are the only thing keeping these media companies afloat and they're going to have to pony up for the NFL and College Sports to keep the lights on.
It's all conjecture, from both sides, until the market bears it out when we hit negotiations in the next 18 or so months and the presidents and chancellors aren't going to simply settle for less because that's what ESPN and/or FOX tell them to do. The networks work for the presidents/chancellors in this situation, not the other way around. If there was a better deal to be had, the presidents/chancellors would dump them faster than a hiccup.

LOL, it wasn’t a Campbell study. There have have multiple independent studies completed that concluded doubling/tripling FBS revenues with pooling. A network exec testified to the Senate Commerce Committee stating likewise.
As mentioned several times already, there is no reason on ESPN’s and Fox’s end to double revenues without pooling as long as they continue their rights stranglehold on both conferences. It’s why they are puppeteering their conferences to block PCSA passage.
