Realignment Megathread (All The Moves)

I’m guessing the “study” was Sankey reading the proposal and saying, “No, that won’t work”
A study commissioned by the Fox/ESPN Puppet Boys will predictably come up with that result as described. It is a BS study that they will distribute to Congress this year to gain support against amending the SBA.

When you have one bidder (ESPN) for the 2nd most valuable property (CFP) in US sports, the current system is obviously effed up and needs an overhaul.

I’ll split the difference with you on this one, I 100% agree that expanding the playoff is stupid, I didn’t even want 12, I thought 8 would have been perfect.

I disagree on the conferences needing overalls as the big ten has never had a problem declaring a true conference champ. Can’t think of a year where the one who got the title would have been an issue.
You do realize that Petitti's proposal will eliminate conference championship games and there will be essentially no conference champs?

Yeah I don’t agree with it at all, I also don’t think it’s gonna go through and if it does I’m gonna be just as annoyed as if the basketball tournament expands

You also realize, that any study done by the other side will show exactly what they want too, or it is never going to see the light of day. Confirmation bias.

That is how all of this works, one side shows proof of their side, and the other shows proof of theirs.

Then again, after 1000 pages of you repeating the same thing over and over like a broken record, maybe you dont realize this.

1,807 pages (and counting)

It's the councils of university presidents and chancellors from their respective leagues whether you choose to believe that or not.
ESPN and Fox have the most to lose with an SBA amendment and they are driving the Sankey/Petitti faux study.

I understand there are competing interests here, but I think the cynical view that everyone is lying for his own sake is a bit reductive. I don't much care what numbers people throw out to bolster their arguments. I do know I side with Campbell because college sports will not exist in 10 years—maybe five—if the SEC and Big Ten are allowed to continue to pursue solely what's in their best interests. So maybe Campbell's number is high and the other one is low, but that doesn't mean the actual number would be the lowest

And if TT was invited to the SEC today, Campbell would change his tune tomorrow.

You have to understand he is only saying this because it benefits TT, if the SEC gets tired of him opposing them, or if they think he is getting somewhere with his arguments, they will just invite TT to the SEC and poof Campbell will be on their side and he will ditch is so called save college sports ideas.

One could say that might be his entire plan, make as much noise as possible so that it is better for the SEC to just add TT and add him to their side.

Campbell is going to say and do what is best for TT, and if suddenly that means being on the other side, poof he will abandon all the rest of us so called peasants.

Not to mention Campbell literally buying players is as much of the issue with college sports than anything, so he is a hypocrite. He is actively causing the destruction of college sports, while blaming everyone else.

Not to mention the chance of 90% of what is being argued here happening is basically zero.

And repeating 7x10, 7x10, 7x10, 7x10, 7x10, 7x10, 7x10, 7x10, 7x10........... and the imaginary 2 to 3 times revenue pool over and over again doesnt make it anymore likely or real.

That being said I am pretty sure @cykadelic2 has me blocked because he ignores everything I say, so I must have hit home at some point. Probably when I called out his insults when anyone disagrees with him.

Interesting read if you have an Athletic Subscription. Minnesota Men's Hockey is the only Non FB/MBB team to make a profit.

I actually don't have you on ignore but I will reply to this post => it doesn't have any merit.
