Sign me up for two b-ball additions. Yes, it’s clunky, but Yormark has earned the privilege to run with that part of his vision.

Honestly, now that we’ve solidified with the 4 pac schools I feel better about pursuing the basketball adds now.

BY has earned our trust after all this. And if his vision of maxing hoops revenue is correct, its the one thing we can work on to minimize the revenue gap

Wonder how long Kliavkoff can keep cashing checks?:D
He was doomed as soon as USCLA left, and much like the Big 12 with UT/OU/SEC, there was nothing the Pac-12 could do to match the Big Ten money. There were no teams out there for him to add that would get the TV money up to the Big 12 money, and the small fan bases/stadiums of WSU and OrSU were no help. If there had been another BYU out there, he may have made it.

My wife talked to a former colleague who is a Utah alum. He is happy to be in the Big 12, and couldn't understand why Utah was waiting.

For basketball only would money be that different than what they make in the Big East? That and don't think their basketball coaches (Geno & Hurley would have major say I assume) and fans would want to make that move. UCONN Administration would get killed. Big East BASKETBALL is very popular/sacred in that area. Them leaving the Big East once before didn't go well either.

Let’s stop the craziness. I don’t need a 20 team basketball league. Stop it.

I was hoping Utah fans weren't like some of their twitter idiots.

At least you have schools like Cincinnati, Houston, UCF, and BYU to feel good for. Among schools like Utah and TCU who have also been promoted before. WSU and OSU might have a better chance making the playoffs now than ever before, which could lead to a future promotion again.
I have been thinking this as well. If they stick with the "Top 6 ranked Conference Champs" thing after 2026 (unlikely, but they could), that just means more G5 schools in the playoffs, and I am all for that.

I still say it needs to be all the conference champs, plus 2 (PAC still around) or 3 (PAC dissolves) at large bids/Wild Cards.

I believe the applicable phrase here is "he went kicking and screaming"

"We are excited for this new chapter, a move that is necessary to remain competitive in top-tier Division 1 athletics," said ASU President Michael Crow. "We are joining a premier athletic conference and bringing with us programs on the rise, our rich traditions and history, and the metro Phoenix media market. We're in a good spot, and we are pleased to be with UArizona and Utah in the move"

I am an ASU alumni. To be honest we have no rich traditions other than slaying the party scene. Nobody goes to the basketball games. When we pay Arizona half the crowd is Wildcat fans. Football is semi ok on attendance. Baseball u to be solid but for some reason that has not been as dominant. I’m glad my old school is in the big 12 but they are a nothing sports university

Going to be an interesting experiment to see how certain school’s cultures change (or don’t change) after being in this new league for a decade.

To much to
Do I’m Tempe, Scottsdale and Phoenix. The pro scene is Phoenix. Tucson is very Ames like in the college sports scene. That’s why Arizona was the big fish out of the two. Can’t wait to see Iowa state play at Sun Devil stadium

Will be interesting to see if Dillingham can get it turned around there. Has a lot of local ties to the area. Seems like an impressive young Coach maybe he can get more of the local kids to stay around. With the outstanding "scenery" there I don't understand why their mens teams aren't better.

ASU needs a different president. ISU was in the same position back in the late 80s and early 90s under Eaton and to a somewhat lesser extent with Jischke.

This truly is incredible considering the history of the Big 12. Born and raised a Cyclone, I loved everything about Cyclone Football and by extension College Football. Three times in 13 years it looked like ISU was going to be on the outside looking in to meaningful college football. I would have always loved ISU but my love for college football would have been hallow going forward if ISU was not in a conference at the highest level of the sport. Thank you Jamie Pollard, Brett Yormark, and the rest of the “hateful 8” leaders for everything they have done to stay firm in solidarity and make decisions as a whole rather than individuals.

I feel for Oregon State and Washington State fans, they are the losers in this whole thing. Maybe one day the Sport can do what’s right and hire a commissioner, go back to regional conferences, negotiate TV as a whole and leverage ALL of college football with the media partners, not just those in the Power 4.

My opinion has always been better options in the Pac. So the good players go elsewhere. Fan support and no tradition. The scenery at ASU is real. It’s actually unreal. Hot chicks everywhere. U can be semi ugly and still get a hot chick.

I don’t know if this will help them but I hope they do better. Used to be able to get a ticket for 3 bucks to get in a game.

ASU is my second college team. A few acquaintances went there, and by extension as a Cardinals fan, as they used to play at Sun Devil stadium, and Jake Plummer is one of my Top 3 favorite QBs of all-time.

I am glad they are in the conference as a fan, but bummed I have to cheer against them when playing Iowa State, or if another game they playing may hurt ISU in the standings.

Yeah it is similar to some of the schools in the South. Had a buddy who went to Ole Miss so went down there to visit him and I couldn't believe some of the chicks these average looking dudes were pulling. Too many hot girls to go around I guess.
