BIG announcement today is the BIG's attempt to scare the President of Arizona from going to the Big 12, so the PAC can be saved to last another 5 years.

Make him take the heat!

If I am Yormark I use this as pressure to get AZ to commit this week and sit back. IF the Big10 is willing to move to 20 now and break up the ACC to do so then there will be better options on the market looking for homes. ASU Utah can then plead their case to get one of the Big12 spots (if Yormark doesn't want to go to 20 too).
This is a good thought. I wonder if his comment about only wanting 14 teams was meant to create some fake urgency

So if the B1G takes 2-4 Pac schools, and the B12 takes 2-4 Pac schools, what happens to the Rose Bowl.
Does it move affiliation to the B12 and B1G?
Does it become an at large NY6 bowl like the Fiesta etc?

Gotta believe it wont end with the end of the PAC.
I mean, the NY6 is basically done once the CFP goes to 12 anyway. The Rose, Orange, Fiesta, Peach, Sugar, and Cotton will rotate the quarterfinal and semifinal games.

Idk… they did not help the pac today if they were meaning to have ulterior motives than what was disclosed.

Why does everyone care who gets the “blame”? That doesn’t matter at all. B10 taking ORWA effectively kills the P12, where they can’t even backfill, and nets us the 4 corners. Which is what everyone wanted when USCLA departed.

I do want the ACC to hang on a little longer to get the 4 corners integrated. That way when Clemson, FSU, UNC, UVa and whoever else goes to the SEC/B10, they can’t backfill with Utah and ASU

Because the B1G wants to come out of this looking like Jack Sparrow or Luffy D. Monkey instead of what pirates and Vikings actually are - raiders, pillagers, and leaving destroyed villages in their wake.

Maybe DeSantis will implement a surtax on Disney theme park admission fee's and Disney Property hotel stays. FSU's and its boosters have been behind this whole fiasco the last couple years.

Brilliant move- get Disney/ESPN to fund FSU's exit fee and pave the road for FSU to join Big10!
;)
FSU should probably stay where they are. I don’t think they would be elite in any other conference.

People keep saying things like this and I don't get it -- unless the ESPN/SEC media contract says otherwise (i.e. pro rata), ESPN is under no obligation to pay more just because the SEC adds more teams. The same holds true for the B1G, I would assume. Do we know if they have pro rata clauses in their media contracts?

One thing is clear, ESPN in particular has put themselves pretty far out over their financial skis with these conference media contracts. I don't think there's much appetite at Disney to fork over more SEC pro rata money just to make FSU and Clemson happy.

That's the thing people are ignoring - eventually these conference payouts are going to get so excessive that the TV networks won't be able to keep increasing them at the next deal - or they might even go down. What happens when Michigan, Ohio St, Alabama, Georgia, Texas, OU, and others suddenly have to make less money than they were previously making? Fans of the smaller Big 10 and SEC schools will tell you that they will continue their benevolent attitudes towards the rest of their conference. But will that really be the case when ESPN continues to whisper in their ears "we can get you more money if you leave the dead weight behind?"

Hearing AZ totally in just as they always have been...but ASU has done a 180 and now AZ doing everything possible to get ASU in along with them. Not hearing anything about Utah. I think ASU might have had a "WTF are we doing lining up with Utah" moment of clarity at some point. Of course that in turn could cause Utah to have a moment of clarity.

Link? Sorry…. just starting to doubt basically everything I hear on here. So much nonsense that turns out to be false.

Need an odd # to join though. If ASU comes then Utah needs to tag along.
