The current infections per 100,000 population are N Dakota at 93(approaching 3X more than 6 weeks ago), S Dakota at 81, Montana at 58 and Wiscy at 56.

If you can't socially distance in those states than you are doing something very, very wrong. Wiscy is directly related to the start if the NFL season and gatherings for Packer games.

Everything else is arrogance and ignorance. Where does that get encouraged?

Somewhere between 3 and 4. I’ve been to both games so about as serious as I guy can take it that’s been around 15,000 people at once.

I can’t vote on mobile. What’s up with that?

I voted 4, but it's somewhere in between 4 & 5. I have several advantages for keeping myself and my husband safe - we are retired, we live on an acreage, and there are no children living with us. We have done takeout, but have not eaten at a restaurant since March. I went to Menards a few times in March and early April because we were in the middle of remodeling the main bathroom when this all started. Since April I have been in the grocery store, the dentist, the doctor's and the vets. We have spent time with another couple, across our deck or their patio, bringing our own food & utensils, three times since April. I wear a mask whenever I go out in public, from the time I leave my car to the time that I return to my car.
My asthma is not as severe as Carver's, but I fully appreciate having to use a nebulizer 2-3 times a day, along with a rescue inhaler, to keep from stressing my lungs out and having to go the prednisone route again.

Maybe if I was younger and in perfect health, I might have a more cavalier attitude about it all. But I know too many people with compromised immune systems from chemo, or ms, or whatever, and I care about them in addition to my own needs. So I stay home. And I mask in public. And I sanitize like there's no tomorrow.

WI is pretty bad so we try to be pretty careful. Toddler was in the picu on respiratory support for a couple day's last year so don't care to repeat. But he is back in daycare so that's a risk. The biggest one we have, for sure. They do a good job of masks, temp checks, knock on wood no cases since reopening 3 months ago but winter makes me nervous. Takeout only, pickup or online order most stuff, though dh won't do that for groceries. Mask and hand washing for that. Couple small things we've done outside (ice cream shop). Gym membership was paid through spring 2021 and we haven't gone since 3/11. Avoid crowded areas but our best hiking areas are getting more crowded so wearing masks outdoors more often than early on when people were far and few. Very small pod of people we will see, also wfh, distancing. Excludes almost all family because they don't see it as a big deal and a few have now contracted it. Holidays will be tense I expect as we likely say no to that risk. Overall I'd say we are a 3.5.

It's not just about my family though. I want to keep people like 2015 and carver's neighbor safe too. This entire ordeal has definitely shown how selfish many are and just how far from a Greatest Generation moniker we are.

Between 3 and 4. I work in a specialty hospital with a number of patients who are at-risk for respiratory complications (either already on a ventilator, have a tracheostomy, or have weak or absent core & chest muscles due to injury), and all staff, visitors (limited number per patient), and patients who are physically able are required to wear masks. So I wear a mask from 8 - 4:30 M-F, with an hour or so for lunch when I take it off while I sit in a room with a couple friends but we're all about 15 feet apart. Or 6+ feet apart, outside on a patio.

I live in a state with a mask mandate. I wear it in all stores/restaurants (I think I've only had one indoor restaurant meal since March), at the dog park, etc. Wear a mask on most dog walks since I'm usually in a city park fairly close to others but if I'm in an open space I don't always wear one because fresh air is nice (though the fires are putting a damper on that too). I don't mind it. I workout at home now, so no mask during that. I sanitize constantly at work, partially because it's a best practice when I'm working hands-on with patients, and because...I touch a lot of equipment, bleach or peroxide wipes, and patients. But outside of work I don't sanitize after every little thing I touch or reach for it first thing when I get in my car.

Don't have kids and don't live near family. Have had some outdoor meals or small gatherings with other friends who I know are also taking things fairly seriously.

My kids have varying levels of concern regarding the protective issues, and a couple of them still don't understand why we will not go see them or our grandkids, or invite them here. One was complaining about it to us just a few days after posting video of her kids dancing in a group of children at a renaissance faire. Not a mask in sight on kids OR adults.

I worry about my grandkids, but I'm not their parent, and I can only watch and hope they stay safe despite their parents.

What kind/brand/model of exercise bike do you have? Thinking I might have to invest as I am not comfortable going into LifeTime to ride and currently have my membership on hold.

I have a Cyclops Magnus (Saris) but I believe they discontinued the older models so you'd have to look. There are many kinds of smart trainers and cost ranges. For mine you mount your bike on the trainer and the tire contacts the trainer. There are also direct drive trainers where you take your back wheel off the bike and connect your chain to the cassette on the trainer. Cost his higher for those.

I’m somewhere between a 3 and a 4. At first I didn’t go anywhere except for work. Now I go to stores as needed. I wear my mask in all stores. I don’t wear it outdoors, but I’m not really around others. I didn’t eat out at all for several months, but I do now about once a week. I pick restaurants that have plenty of space between groups, outdoor seating, or go at off times.

Two big deviations from this.

My son got married this summer. The Church was really big, so social distancing was easy and mask wearing was about 90%. The reception was moved to a larger venue so we could have about 12’ between tables. Not much mask wearing At the reception but people were very respectful of others and their space. I’m glad they didn’t delay the wedding, it all went great.

I also attended the OU game. It was great. No anxiety there.

Reports of reinfection and uncertainty about the length/strength of immunity would cause me to reconsider. And that's from a friend working on one of the vaccine trials.

Thanks, but I had it a little over a week ago, so I’m not going to worry about reinfection for a few more weeks at least. Crazy what freedom feels like even if it’s temporary.

I’m somewhere between 3 and 4. Honestly, since I’m on long term telework I just haven’t left the house all that much since March, but when I do I wear my mask, wash my hands, stay away from people, etc. If I were still regularly going to the office I’d probably be a much more solid 4.

Where’s the choice where you’ve already had it and dgaf about masks any more?

I've had it and still care about masks. Antibodies were negative after 4 months.

All indications are any long lasting immunity means T-Cell which means you're not bulletproof from getting it.

My gf is immunocompromised so helping out on that front.

Could you still spread it via surfaces?

I put myself at a 3 but I'm probably somewhere closer to a 4 in reality. I definitely wash my hands and hand sanitize way more than I did before Covid and have sanitizer in my car to use if I went into a store or got fuel. I wear a mask whenever in public unless I am outside and not near anyone where I would need it. I don't like wearing a mask but if it gets us through this quicker I am fine with doing my part to wear one to get us through this quicker. We haven't dined in at a restaurant since this started but will do carry out from time to time. Have limited our in person worship at church lately because have noticed more people attending and less of them wearing masks lately. Our church encourages the use of masks but isn't enforcing it but just recently announced since more people are coming back to worship and have been getting feedback that some are not attending because people are not wearing masks they are going to add 2 more services next month that will be mask mandated to attend so we probably will probably make an effort to attend 1 of those more frequently.

I said it in another thread but I have been very impressed so far with how well our fans are following the protocols and rules at Jack Trice compared to what you see in other stadiums on TV. ISU athletics in general has been doing great so far and our athletes and administration should be commended for staying committed to having a successful season during these times.

I wear a mask all the time, except at the gym. I have ate at restaurants 4 times since March and 3 of those were outside. I did go to two football games but locked myself down for 2 weeks after (ie no gym right now). I go to the store once a week.

I’ve seen my family a few times. My should-be-retired parents both work full time and can’t telework, so I’m likely not their biggest risk. I wish everyone would take things more seriously to help keep them safe.

Guess I am the only one who thinks they are doing everything right. I understand I have a high hubris reputation on this board but this time I can't see where I am not following guidelines.

I haven't been inside a building that wasn't my apartment since March 11. I haven't met a single soul outside of my uber eats/instacart/ amazon fresh delivery drivers when they knock on my door. I wash my hands and arms diligently once I receive food/groceries or really any time I step outside. I wear gloves when I unpack groceries. I also hand sanitize regularly when I am out on my walks. Stay 6 feet+ from anyone at all times. Always wear a mask when I leave (homemade cloth mask on top of a (k)N95) and do not take it off until I am back in my apartment.

Call me a baby all you want but I've had blood clots in my lungs before. I've been on oxygen for a week straight before. I've been in a situation where for days where you are gasping every breath. No ******* way am I going back to that. I am high risk from that clot so I am doing my part accordingly.

Keep on taking care of yourself 2015. It all may sound "excessive" to some until you are dealing with a truly life-threatening condition. I had stopped going anywhere for months because I considered anything I touched or anyone who breathed near me as touching or breathing on my at-risk wife. No way was I going to take that risk.

So a vaccine will be virtually useless if immunity lasts less than 4 months. I can’t see the majority of people going to get a vaccine 3 times a year or more.

I'd recommend reading more on this. Immunity is not bulletproof just like it isn't after a flu shot...it just may mean preventing severe infection. O.G. SARS showed T-Cell reactions 17 years later for some who had that so that's hopeful.

It's still not known how infectious someone is if they get reinfected with Covid from what I've seen.

Until that information becomes available, I'll continue to take general simple precautions and help those around me.
