Ranking

Looks like that hasn't updated yet. Still has us at 11-2, and updated through Jan 4th.
Correct, and I am not sure how often it posts. But another ranking to keep an eye on now that the conferences games have started.

They update this each day, but it’s usually not until mid-late afternoon.

After yesterday there’s no reason to think we can’t beat Kansas at Phog.

We certainly can but I wouldn't bank on it. I am guessing they will be loaded for bear when we show up there.

But obviously, if we now beat them there, the conferences is ours for the taking.

Last Mondays AP Rank / weeks results
20 Buffalo / W & W's
21 Indiana / W & L
22 Wisconsin / L & W
23 Oklahoma / L & W
24 Nebraska / L & L
25 Iowa / L & W

Others receiving votes:
Arizona State 116, L & W
Kansas State 61, L & L
Villanova 43, W & W
Seton Hall 24, W & L
TCU 20, NC & W
Cincinnati 14, W & L
Iowa State 10, W & W

ISU beating KU and the attention they received I am guessing they move to #22

I’ve seen 4 ballots tonight, 3 of them has us at 24 and Seth Davis has us at 20.

I’ll guess 21.
Yeah lots of 24s by the voters that have tweeted their rankings. And Kansas only dropped a few spots in most. I don’t get it. If you really believe KU is still a top ten team then how can you rank ISU so low?

About every mention of our win included Doke being out as a main component. I have a feeling this won't sway as many voters as we think. I think we end up around 22-23 and I'll be surprised if we are higher than 21.

I'm ready to see a number in front of our name again, though. Would love to see a single digit sitting there when March rolls around.

Don’t mind not being ranked too high yet! Prohm can use this to motivate players, make them feel slighted. Need to keep winning and go into Kansas with a big chip on our shoulder.

The computers have us in the 10 to 15 range -- and KU like 20 or so.

Goes to show you how valuable the human polls really are.

Then the poll voters must not have heard he is out for the year. You want to say that's why they lost and our win wasn't so impressive, fine; but now you have to drop KU about ten more spots since he is gone.

I love rankings but they are the dumbest thing ever in college basketball. Two teams with the same record play each other. 1 beat the other by 17. The winner is ranked in the 20's. The loser is still possibly top 10. Tell me how that makes any sense what so ever.

This is the correct answer.

I don't really care if we're ranked or not? Just keep winning and we'll get a great seed in the tourney and that's all that matters. Rankings are meaningless and are just for bragging rights, and I'm sure Prohm doesn't give a s**t about bragging rights.

You could say the same thing about sports in general. At the end of the day, isn't being a fan all about bragging rights? There is no material value to your team winning (unless you are gambling). It's all a mental reward, just like seeing your team be ranked.
