Thought it was good when I watched it. Realized it was crap when I listened to it without watching the video. Don’t like it at all now.

That point when your watch the news and find out the life flight (LifeGuard) you saw at the pumpkin patch was taking a teenager that had a head on collision with a combine directly to UIHC...

That is one sound I hate. Never liked it except when I needed their help with a patient.

The mason city lifeflight goes directly over our house for anything west. It doesn’t fly very high so you hear it every time.

Yup. They fly over here somewhat frequently too. That being said their airport base is not far away so we hear them reposition to/from there on occasion and the new operator does a lot of training/information sessions with area volunteer fire departments.

Here is the story.

I was going to have a late fall or early winter scotch party but now leaning towards a champagne and cocktail party. And by cocktails I mean wine, I ain't mixing drinks. Just need to buy a case of Roederer Estate Brut and invite some of my neighbors or something. Probably have to toss out some appetizers or something, right? I just know how to serve booze and play music, not so much into food fare. Maybe get some key lime pie. Yah, pie.

@cowgirl836 - this reminds me of you, on so many levels! :D

Had the 4th quarter meeting of the St. Olaf Foundation (church) last night. I am on the grant committee, which means I and 3 others review requests for grants from our endowment fund, which is currently at approximately $2.5 million.

We target giving 5% of the endowment to deserving entities each year. This year we had a bit over $50,000 left to give in the 4th quarter. We ended up giving it all away, to groups like the Lotus Foundation, who provides shelter for abused and drug-addicted women and their children (no men, please). We also gave to the Salvation Army, the Lord's Cupboard (food for needy families), a place called Icky's, which provides a place for middle school and high school children to go, and several other charitable groups, including Community and Family Resources.

A 2 hour meeting, but well worth the time. Sometimes religion is a good thing.

Last night going home, it almost reminded me of those days when the forest fires were blazing out West and all the smoke drifted this way. Except this time it's dust from the fields. Awesome that the farmers can finally be out and harvesting their crops!

So my surgeon just visited me, she told me that everything went fine. I can't see anything yet, but it definitely feels different down there.

I should get discharged Friday, and then I have to move to B&B near the clinic for another week. After that I get to fly home to continue recovery for another four weeks.

Feeling great at the moment.

And you did it on Taco Tuesday!

Can tell the election is getting close. Crazy statements happening. Some dude just said ISU isn’t getting some FB and BB recruits because of another politician. I’m highly doubting that statement.
