They always say they will bring it back in a couple days. It’s a father and son (two yards to do). The father has BK’d so many times I’m nervous I may have to buy it back on an auction some day.
It's yours; you create the deadline and have them agree to it before they take it. If they don't follow through there is nothing wrong with following your instincts and declining next time. You can tell them why, too. "Every year I have to go chase it down when I need it and I shouldn't have to do that with my own equipment."

I know, I always try to be nice.

I have a hard time with that as well. I know, my suggestions are much easier to make than they are to execute.

Worst people I ever lent stuff to was my inlaws. Over a few years I helped them out several times. Stuff I had that I didn’t have a need for, could sell but tried to help them out. I once asked about this old skid loader that they had that didn’t run and they haadnt touched for a few years. FIL said they may need it sometime so he wouldn’t SELL it to me.

If they would have bought what I have let them use (only counting the stuff they borrowed and haven’t returned otherwise it would be way worse) it would have hit them probably around 15k in cost. When i completely cut them off was when I found out they had sold something and what I lent them went with it.

Another keeper I forgot. When wife’s brother moved back to town after a year away. Him and his fiancé needed a place. My wife still owned the house she had lived in and we had rented it out. Luckily (sarcasm here) the House came up for rent. I said never deal with relatives so we wanted to sell. (Wife had bought the house at an unbelievably low price from a motivated seller). Her folks put the squeeze on her to sell to them and they dictated they would only pay what she had paid off in principal. So we got barely nothing and when the fridge broke a year later the MIL came after us. We had left appliances in the house for renters since we had two sets. I had traded out fridges on sale because that one was nicer than ours.

Free fridge and they still wanted us to buy another for them. I told them no and they were just huffy at us for awhile.m

EDIT: if you couldn’t tell, inlaws think my family is loaded (which we aren’t) because we are just more money savvy then them.

You in-laws need to butt out. They have no business dictating anything when it comes to your family's finances. They could come and suggest a deal for the BIL but you should be able to get market value for your property.

Haven't been here in a while.

Congrats Pants! Any idea where you're going to live yet?

On the subject of broken toes - I broke my little toe a couple of years ago (playing Just Dance). I taped it to the toe next to it. I called my sister (a podiatrist) to see how to treat it. She said to tape it up. Don't tape it to the toe next to it because they rotate on different axis and that'll just screw it up. Just tape the toe to cushion it a bit and so that it heals somewhat straight.

I wish I would have known that when I was a kid. The doctor taped them together and my little toe is so crooked now.

So I should have taped it to a couch cushion?

I borrowed my neighbor's wheelbarrow. She told me that they were instituting a new rule: Whoever uses it last has to store it. Kind of the opposite of your problem.
We have a bobcat with a scoop & forks that has been making the rounds this summer. Couple of friends, one with grand landscaping plans, the other building a 2-story garage with a basement. It's finally home, and we're hoping to finish the retaining wall and the leveling of the land between the house and the garagemahal before winter sets in. The good thing is, unlike our friends, PapaLew doesn't have to wait for the weekend to work with it. With it being football season, that would be a colossal pain!

We had been married for about a year or less when this happened. They bought the house so the BIL could have a place to stay. When BIL had a kid and realized that house was kinda small for a family, the BIL basically made the parents sell the acreage to him on a sweetheart deal and they bought a house in town. Wife’s bro has had everything handed to him and he still thinks he has it rough.

Oh, btw, he’s a tavern hawk to boot.

You need to quit that game.

My manager is an OU alumni and I've pestered him for a year about last year's win.

This year we have a friendly bet:

Loser has to wear the other team's jersey during all 1:1s (Either in person or confirmed by webcam)
Loser has to sing the fight song in front of the team in October's monthly meeting
Loser has to buy dinner which includes a pitcher of beer. Only caveat is that if ISU wins, I get a steak dinner, and if OU wins, he gets a burger dinner.

Should be fun. I think I am gonna get a nice porterhouse with my winnings.

Is this future little CG. (OK, I'm still struggling calling cg's son little cg)

he can be called something else. Perhaps gruntybutt as he is known at 4am.

I picked up lunch at a BBQ place around the corner and come back to the office. Open it up and see they gave me the vegetarian special. A bun with no meat. I drive back and they give me an actual sandwich. Should have given me a coupon or refunded my money being that I had to drive back.
Pretty sure they knew they had screwed up as well, I walked up and told the woman I ordered from that there was a mistake and another lady asked "did I forget to put meat in your sandwich"?

On one hand: 74-6-2
On the other hand: Past performance is no guarantee of future results.
