Unfortunately if what the airline says is true. They lose a bunch of money due to a stupid person trying to flush a diaper. I would think it would be fair to go to that persons house and flush a diaper in a house. I’ve had to deal with flushed tampons at a place I worked at. No one had any idea why there was a problem. Had to snake the toilet, pull the snake out with a tampon on it. Had to have discussion with all the females and explain why that is not something that should be flushed.

Watched TV for 10 minutes this morning. TIL that both running for governor are mean nasty people. Or this will be one ugly season.

And you just get used to the idea that you're not in school.
There's some research out there that jobs which are less stimulating mentally help people get into ruts and stop using the thinking approaches/areas/whatever that lead to success in school. Basically, a person gets used to thinking and living a certain way and school just becomes a non-factor in their living and/or planning.
IMO it really depends on the person. I was in the Navy for 4 years right out of HS. Got an engineering degree at ISU after I got out. I will tell you this. If I would've gone to college right out of HS, I probably would not have had the discipline I needed to get through it.

I also agree that everyone should have a job in the restaurant industry, for a little while. I can guarantee you would be a better than average tipper.

I am much more disciplined/responsible about grad school now that I am working, married, kids etc. than I was for undergrad. Countless reasons for that but I have noticed how much more seriously I take it.

In related news I am not sure I want to finish it...

Figure the lab had to be the female. That was one determined male to get busy with a that much bigger lady.
Not to mention the fact that whelping a litter of labmix pups would probably kill a female chihuahua...
Funny how the guy thinks of one end of the process, and women think of the other. ;)

That would be awkward...but then again - what were they supposed to do? Tell the passengers to "hold it" until we land? They couldn't divert - they were over the ocean. So yeah, it sucked for the passengers, but IMO American is trying to make good...
It does beg the question of how one diaper can block all of the pipes into the holding tank...the lavatories are at different ends of the plane. Do they all connect to one opening into the tank? If so, maybe a redesign is in order?

One of our DILs didn't understand that "flushable baby wipes" are NOT flushable when you have a septic tank. $300 later...

A Boeing 757 has separate holding tanks fore and aft. They just didn't want the common people using the toilets forward in first class. That's the real story and the reporters whiffed on it.

I also wonder if the mother with the toddler mentioned was the one that started the whole thing in the first place by flushing the diaper down the toilet.

About three weeks into moving where we are now, I discovered water all over our basement floor as we did a late night load of towels. (Our washer empties directly into the drain in our basement floor) Other units started to complain of water, too. Once the plumber put the camera through, he discovered a blockage of feminine products and q-tips right where the property pipe joins with the city sewer pipe. At least, that's what our landlord told us. Plumber burnt out his tools trying to break it up, so they had to get RotoRooter from Osky to come down and finish it.

Not sure what happened, but I hope our landlord figured it out and evicted whoever did that.
