As much as we give Sconnies guff, up in Milton they did a pretty cool thing and gave a handicapped kid a surprise birthday party, filled the local park up with semis and a thousand people for his birthday, it was on CBS news. Thought I'd throw a little good news out for the day.

So did the tibbetts thread get moved to the cave? I assume that’s why I don’t see it
Pride closed Gunner's thread as it was getting political:

"Closing.
Feel free to create another thread to discuss. If you have a political point to make, then put it in the politics forum (or you will receive a time out)."

MeowingCows started another thread in the cave called "Mollie Tibbetts murder case".

Original is still in off-topic.

Original is locked, new one is 90% immigration policy at this point. And as KC said new one is in the cave. Until the announcements today, the original thread wasn't too far off track most of the time.

@cowgirl836 this is really normal. Kids can be so random and especially newborns. cause new.;)

Seriously, how do kids potty so frequently? It is even a tactic to avoid bedtime. "Are you sure? You just went three times?"

I swear he knows the moment a clean diaper is on.

And how a out only sleeping if we are holding him cause that started today. Could be a long night. Killing my hope that his just over 4 hour stretch from last night would be a repeat occurrence

So the other day the two oldest kids see the neighbor dog has somehow gotten out of the fenced yard 2 houses down. She is a sweet old thing, very friendly, trained as a therapy dog. This is the second time she has come down to our yard, the first time they had landscapers workingin their backyard and the gate didn’t get shut. Anyway, not a big deal—oldest just grabs the dog leash she has (because even though we have never had a dog, she once bought a dog leash) and walked JJ back home. Small talk with the owner. Tonight he comes down to our house and gives her a little gift for bringing her back. Very unexpected, especially for something as simple as bringing her two houses back home.

On the flip side, same daughter yelled at our next door neighbor kids because they were taunting their own dog. Standing in our yard just a foot over their dog’s invisible fence and barking at him so he would bark.

We start Thursday.

Us, too. Oldest has a volleyball tournament in Newton Thursday—bus leaves before the first day of school is even over and will get back home around 10pm. Then 6:15 practice Friday morning and first home football game Friday night with band at halftime.

I am ready. All six of us have been home together all summer. And all four kids are in school full time now.

Your daughter has good priorities. Caring for and protecting animals...well done.

Son has FB Friday against the team he got hurt against last year. Thursday my daughter has VB. Is expected to play some varsity. She gets to play my Alma mater who I think has won every conference VB title this millennium. Our VB wins 2 games a year. Local community college VB is loaded with alumni from my school.

I interviewed last Tuesday for a job up in DSM. Interview was...meh. (Let's read these questions off a worksheet, then write down her answers. No organic flow to it. Ugh.) They said they were aiming to have a decision by the end of the week. Haven't heard anything yet. I'm looking at Indeed for other jobs up there to apply to, and not liking any of them. If I apply down here, and accept a position, conventional wisdom says I stick around here for another year. Don't. Want. To.

This truly, truly, sucks. [/vent]

(Sorry if it looks like I'm trying to go for a pity party...just needed to put this out someplace so I might get a chance to sleep)

What are you looking for retail again or are you headed a new direction? Not that I have any great leads but as a group someone might be able to throw you some leads or ins.

I think I’m too far away to help much. Will say that the MC TV station has 0 sports anchors. If I hear of anything I will definitely say so Sara.

Watching commercials lately, apparently women wear the wrong size shoes, the wrong size pants, wrong size bra, even the wrong size feminine products. Do women know how size anything?

No. Because men are the ones labeling the sizes.
