So the other day the two oldest kids see the neighbor dog has somehow gotten out of the fenced yard 2 houses down. She is a sweet old thing, very friendly, trained as a therapy dog. This is the second time she has come down to our yard, the first time they had landscapers workingin their backyard and the gate didn’t get shut. Anyway, not a big deal—oldest just grabs the dog leash she has (because even though we have never had a dog, she once bought a dog leash) and walked JJ back home. Small talk with the owner. Tonight he comes down to our house and gives her a little gift for bringing her back. Very unexpected, especially for something as simple as bringing her two houses back home.
On the flip side, same daughter yelled at our next door neighbor kids because they were taunting their own dog.

Standing in our yard just a foot over their dog’s invisible fence and barking at him so he would bark.
