I like when people try to explain how something works to me when I designed and wrote it.

a candidate did that to a former manager in an interview once. When she kept trying to cut him off and explain that she was quite familiar with the process, he continued to mansplain it to her. He didn't get a second interview.

Was at a garage sale on Friday and they had a couple of guitar effects pedals for $5. The oldest is the one who plays so I asked if she wanted them. For $5 she was like sure, what the heck. I googled the first one and eBay prices had it around $80-90. Googled the second one and prices are closer to $300. We need to get some cords to figure out if they even work, but even if they don’t I told her they would be cool paperweights.

Holy cow.
Applied to Ole Miss yesterday. They've contacted references today.
Not sure if that's just because they want that as part of their application or because I have a chance, but it's the first time the references were notified.

This would be the school that I e-mailed about references sending the letters to them.
I got a call. They asked how I knew you. I said that we met on a pretty obscure internet site. I think they were impressed.

Yea I knew it's relation to the Twin Cities. That's actually kind of why I picked it. I am headed up to a customer in Minneapolis the week of the 9th but I am heading up there early for the 4th of July with some friends. Then a lady friend from college and I got an AirBnB right on the lake that's there in Hudson for 3 days . It even has a hottub looking over the lake!

Should be a good time :D
When I first moved up here, we used to go to Hudson because the bars stayed open later than in Minnesota. There is, or at least was, a bar named Dicks. At the time, we thought it would be brilliant if they sold t-shirts that read, "I love Dicks!". That's pretty much the extent of my Hudson knowledge.

Are you sure you want to live in Mississippi?

Also, when states set their own drinking ages, for years Wisconsin was 18 and Minnesota was 21. The bars in Hudson were pretty jammed on the weekends.

It hurts your case when you’re telling them that as they help you get your new cell phone set up.
It's not so much the set up as it is the "reversing whatever embarrassing thing they did to the display on my phone" thing. It took me awhile but now I'm really suspicious anytime I hear, "Dad, can I borrow your phone?"

So, finally found time to read the last 8-10 pages of the Assault. Some observations:

*It terrifies me to find myself agreeing with CycloneDaddy and Cyclone.TV so much.
*MBVR/Matt does not understand the basics of the reply feature.
*Or story continuity.
*Or journalism.
*Or honesty.
*Or sanity.
*However, he DID quote Obi Wan on p39. So there's that...

Then again, he mixed up his fandom, because:

3TrueFans said:
Is he me and I don't even know it!?

I feel like there's a twist coming where it turns out we're all personalities of one person and it's just been one person talking to themselves the whole time

And if KC could still post in that thread, she would say:
"WE ARE BORG"

(hey, if he can talk about himself in the third person, so can I!)

Made it to Kansas City and back in one piece. Highlights included Power & Light District on Saturday night and a tour of Boulevard Brewing Co. on Sunday morning. The tour started at 10:30 and we all agreed that the IPA sample they gave us at the very beginning of the tour was not a great way to start the day after a night at P&L but the rest of the tour was great. We also went bowling and saw the new Incredibles movie since the first one came out when we were all kids. It was a great weekend with friends that I hadn't seen in a long time and I can't wait to go back.
